in Regards to Barack Obama:
IS IT DEMAGOGUERY, NATIONALISM OR A POLITICAL CULT?
What is going on in our country? How can we be so intelectually lazy and ignorant, and furthermore why would we want to have our country involved with any of the three facts mentioned below. I am absolutely dumbfounded and appalled by the fact that we would let anyone sweet talk his way into the White House with claims of "CHANGING WASHINGTON". As a United States Citizen I feel it is my duty to research the practices and behavior of the individual seeking the top authoritative position in our country. I am in no way talking in a rhetorical fashion or commiting my opinion to any one of the facts listed below. However I will assist in helping individuals raise an eye brow and raise questions to what we might be dealing with in the future. As Thomas Paine said in his pamphlets Common Sense, published in January 1776, "I offer nothing more than simple facts, plain arguments, and common sense." Simple facts, plain arguements, and common sense is what needs to happen. If these three elements were applied today, then maybe the outcome of country in the future will be different than the road we are headed down today. As of right now in our country, I have been observing three facets that are very unsettling in my mind. They are Demagoguery, Nationalism, and Political Cults. Barack Obama's campaign has been encompassed by characteristics of all three of the following listed below.
DEMAGOGUERY:
Demagogy (also demagoguery) (Ancient Greek d?µa????a, from d?µ?? demos "people" and ??e?? agein "to lead") refers to a political strategy for obtaining and gaining political power by appealing to the popular prejudices, emotions, fears and expectations of the public — typically via impassioned rhetoric and propaganda, and often using nationalist or populist themes.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Demagogue
NATIONALISM:
Nationalism is a term referring to a doctrine[1] or political movement[2] that holds that a nation—usually defined in terms of ethnicity or culture—has the right to constitute an independent or autonomous political community based on a shared history and common destiny.http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Nationalism
POLITICAL CULT'S:
Guidelines have been developed by the American Family Foundation (AFF) [16] that the group suggests be used for making a provisional judgment as to whether a particular group might be a "political cult" rather than simply an ideological sect that uses flamboyantly extreme rhetoric and/or elicits a high level of voluntary commitment from its core members.
1) The group is preoccupied with making money and often elevates money-making duties above the group's ostensible ideological or religious goals. In a political cult, this would include excessive fund raising, especially by illegal means such as electoral campaign-finance fraud.
2) The leader is not accountable to any authorities (unlike, for example, teachers, military commanders or ministers, priests, monks, and rabbis of mainstream religious denominations). In a political context, this would apply to cult-of-personality dictators, as well as other political leaders who strive for a position of authority free from oversight.
3) The group teaches or implies that its supposedly exalted ends justify whatever means it deems necessary. This may result in members' participating in behaviors or activities they would have considered reprehensible or unethical before joining the group. In a political context, this could include criminal activities, including unprovoked violence against opponents.
4) The group has an us-versus-them mentality that causes hostility towards, and/or conflict with, political opponents and the wider society to an irrational degree that usually undermines the cult's ostensible goals. Although non-cults, including mainstream political parties, also frequently encourage us-versus-them thinking, in the political cult it is carried to an extreme in which the entire world outside the cult is regarded either as the enemy or as pawns to be manipulated in the fight against the enemy; in turn, critics of the cult and other opponents are demonized in a manner that brooks no questioning from the cult's cadre.
5) The group not only requires members to adhere to particular doctrines or a particular "line" (a feature of many non-cultic groups as well) but also strongly discourages or even bans any questioning or criticism of the behavior or instructions of the group's leadership, and often harshly punishes any members who persist in criticism even if such members are loyal to the "line."
6) The group displays excessively zealous and unquestioning commitment to its leader and (whether he is alive or dead) regards his belief system, ideology, and practices as the Truth, as law. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Political_cult
This is our time to stand up as a nation for what we believe in and do whats right. If Barack Obama wins the Democratic Nomination, I will no longer affiliate or participate with the Democratic (Undecisive) Party. I do not agree with the war in Iraq, but I do agree with fighting terrorism, which are two separate and distinct entities. I do believe Hillary is more qualified than Barack, However, John McCain is a better person than the previous two mentioned and his head is on straight. I have to do what is right and I my vote will go to John McCain.
