Have you noticed yet? Now you can search myFOXdfw.com.

We are really excited to now offer you a Collarity search engine that not only searches the site, but does it pretty well. Here are a few features of the Collarity search engine that you can take advantage of.

1) Collarity runs what the call a "relevancy search." It works hard to make sure it finds exactly what you are looking for.

2) Type in a search keyword, but don't hit enter. Do you see the little pop-up window? This will help you narrow down your search.

3) The first module offers you additional search terms based on what other users are searching for. If you click on a term it's added to your query.

4) The second module offers you a preview of the top search results. You may see what you like in that window. You can click on it and go straight to the page. Or modify your search terms to get a different preview.

5) Let your mouse over over a preview link for just a few seconds. You'll get the full description of the link before you click on it.

6) Finally, click on GO to see a full screen of results.

7) Once you find the story you are looking for, you may also notice a blue box at the bottom of the page. The search engine suggests related stories and related searches... just in case you still haven't found what you are looking for.

8) Couldn't find something on myFOXdfw.com or want more information outside of the story? You can use the same search to search the entire Web. Simply select the Web search instead of Site search above where you typed in your keywords.

We should note that currently the search does not search the blogs. However, that function is part of Phase 2, which will be coming in the next few months.

We are really excited. How about you?

How's about getting rid of the constant RUNTIME ERROR that keeps popping up? This is the first time today I have been able to get on the blogs because of this error. It happened earlier in the week and last week as well. I'm sure I'll get booted again soon because of it.

Bad programming!

laydownsally: The error was supposed to have been fixed earlier this week. Please send us an e-mail at website@kdfwfox4.com next time we get it. Also let us know what browser you are using, operating system and internet service provider (i.e. Road Runner, AOL, Bell South).

Thanks for the response. I did send an e-mail this morning to that address. Browser: IE 6.0

It was suggested last week by Alfred that I download Mozilla. This is not an option for me. I would just like to use my current browser, which works with every other website on the face of the earth (hyperbole, I know!).
Thanks. :)

I'm still getting the error, btw. I just stopped this page from completely loading so I could reply to you. If I let it load completely, the error pops up and my browser closes.

I've had a lot of DRAG when scrolling and some stall-outs WHEN on the FOX BLOGS (and no where else.) Very very discouraging, especailly when adding that with the inability to directly upload an avie. :(

I don't really want to use another browser. >:(

Search is OK, I always use google, but a Blog search, would be great!.... if all others probs were fixed.
good luck staff!

I wanted to find Richard Ray's blog about the Sharkarosa Ranch and my first scan of the blogs I could not find it.

So I went back to the "People" tab on the main page and went to his bio and clicked on the link to his blog. It took me to the Fox L.A. site. I found Rich's blog about the Ranch and I wanted to add it to my Favorites List but it would not let me even sign on. So I had to make a note as to what section it was in (Entertainment) and the time and date (Jan 31) and then back out and go back to Fox DFW and then go to Entertainment and then scroll down to Jan. 31. I finally found it and then I could sign in and add it to my faves list.

Mike Doocy's blog is the same way. If you go to the "People's" tab on the main page and click on the link to his blog it will take you to Fox L.A. site, also. And once you are there you cannot go to the Fox DFW blogs. These are just examples of some of the glitches that are still on your blog site.

This is no big deal. Just don't know why the links send you to Fox L.A. (from M.Doocy and R.Ray bios) instead of Fox DFW.

The search engine does not currently search blogs. As stated above, that's Phase 2.

In chardoney's defense, I didn't say I couldn't get it to search the blogs... I said it would be NICE IF it did. :)
At this point, I think I'm with coolone.

PA, I'm packing tonight and mov'n to Arizona.. or Florida!
