I received this as an email and have verified it through snopes.com before posting:

I assume you have all seen the reports about how Sears is treating its reservist employees who are called up? By law, they are required to hold their jobs open and available, but nothing more. Usually, people take a big pay cut and lose benefits as a result of being called up...Sears is voluntarily paying the difference in salaries and maintaining all benefits, including medical insurance and bonus programs, for all called up reservist employees for up to two years. I submit that Sears is an exemplary corporate citizen and should be recognized for its contribution.

Suggest we all shop at Sears, and be sure to find a manager to tell them why we are there so the company gets the positive reinforcement it well deserves.

Pass it on.

So I, decided to check it out before I sent it forward. I sent the following email to the Sears Customer Service Department:

I received this email and I would like to know if it is true. If it is, the Internet may have just become one very good source of advertisement for your store. I know I would go out of my way to buy products from Sears instead of another store for a like item even if it was cheaper at the other store.
Here is their answer to my email.....................

Dear Customer:

Thank you for contacting Sears.

The information is factual. We appreciate your positive feedback. Sears regards service to our country as one of greatest sacrifices our young men and women can make. We are happy to do our part to lessen the burden they bear at this time.

Please pass this on to friends. Sears needs to be recognized for this outstanding contribution and we need to show them as Americans, we do appreciate what they are doing for our military!!!!!!!!!!! It's Verified By Snopes.com : http://www.snopes.com/politics/military/sears.asp

How refreshing to hear some positive supportive news for a change. Our men and women who service overseas deserve ALL the support from family, friends, employers, and our country. Without them protecting our backs, we might have had a few more 9/11's.
During this holiday season, send a Christmas Card to any of our soldiers overseas ... a little deed goes a long way.
Just my two cents worth !!

Sears Supports Homosexual TV Network With Advertising

Two-minute infomercials sponsored explicitly by Sears helps keep the homosexual network on the air.

Dear ANNA,

Sears has thrown its support to the LOGO network. LOGO is the 24-hour cable television network dedicated to programming for lesbians, gays, bisexuals and transgenders according to a homosexual advertising website. It is carried on many cable systems around the country. Many of you have been forced to accept it as part of your cable package. Sears is now helping to make it mainstream!

Sear's advertising will help LOGO air shows like "Sex 2K Drag Kings," "The Gayest and Greatest of 2006," and "Transgeneration."

Sears advertising (two-minute infomercials) will go to help the fledging network get on firm financial ground. Sears advertising is financing LOGO's push to legalize homosexual marriage in addition to promoting the homosexual lifestyle.

Sears is owned by Kmart Corporation.

Take Action
1. Send an email to Sears asking them to cancel their advertising on LOGO.

2. Call your local Sears store and ask why Sears is supporting the homosexual network with its advertising.

3. Forward this email to your friends and family.

Sorry Dolphinchic, I don't consider this "saving face".

While I don't embrace a homosexual lifestyle myself, I know several who do. I do not want this type of programming on my television so I don't purchase those channels and if I did have them they would be blocked out with a V chip.

Sears is a large corporation tying to appeal to "everybody" and everybody is a non-exclusionary group.

Yay for Sears!

On a side note, does Sears have that commercial where the husband hands the wife a gift and the wife throws everything off the kitchen table in a risque manner? I hate that commercial. Everytime I see it, I have to grab my kid's eyes.

What a moral delimmma!

Although I am not pleased that Sears supports sexually deviant behavior, I have to give them credit for supporting our troops in this way.

the paradox is that our troops are protecting our freedoms, which these days seems to include protecting sexually deviant behavior.

(sigh)... I guess I have to give the not to Sears with my shopping dollars, but maybe write letters asking them to not support this behavior.

to be clear: I am not challenging these peoples "right" to behave in this manner, I just prefer my money not be used to promote something so patently unhealthy, and morally wrong (IMHO).

Thank you, mykidz!!

I did not know this!

Yeah for Sears!!

We can't be on board with everything everyone supports or doesn't, but we can show support when they are doing something good. That is all that matters - IMHO.

I kept my word and went shopping at Sears this morning. I worked at the one at Valley View Mall before the mall was there (dated self once). Worked in the candy and popcorn department creating that wonderful smell of popcorn that no one could resist (dated self twice) and a small popcorn sold for 16 cents and a large for 41 cents and they could put it on their Sears charge (dated self third time . . .game over)But I digress. I also remembered all the reasons that I don't patronize Sears any longer. Besides having dumped their popcorn machine, there customer service is terrible. The jewelry dept. was having a big sale and they had 1 guy manning the whole dept and he was on the phone most of the time. A nice lady from another area finally came over to lend a hand after there were 6 of us in line and we were being ignored for 30 minutes.

It's great that Sears is paying our soldiers while they are gone, but the least they can do is hire some temps during Christmas to fill the vacancies until they return.

Hmmm, do gays in the military get TWICE the support from Sears? Just kidding.
I think it great they're supporting all of the above. Spread the love.

I get updates every so often from The American Family Association,,, That is where my post came from about Sears,, you can check it out.. www.afa.net,,,, I posted this on Atm's only to let people make an informed decision as to where they would want to spend their money...It was nothing against supporting our Troops,,, I personally know of too many that are serving Our Country as we speak.. My point was that there is always two sides to every story....
