Seems a Texas sheep farmer was puzzled about the disappearance of some sheep on his farm. After a few weeks the farmer decided to put up an electric fence. About a week later, this is what he found!

Now, I know we've all heard of people being eaten by snakes & I bet most of us have said, 'If a snake tried to eat me, I'd blah, blah, blah & get away.'

Well, this is a Python & they're extremely aggressive & have a few teeth that they use to hold their prey while they wrap around them & then constrict. Could you get away if this one bit you & held on with it's 'few teeth?'
(Note: The wires are 10 inches apart.)

Yikes a huge snake.

I tried to google the article. Found out that that snopes.com (http://www.snopes.com/photos/animals/fencesnake.asp) says it's true, but doesn't say "Texas". Says Silent Valley Game Ranch in South Africa

So I went to that website (http://www.bushveld.co.za/pictures-python.htm) where they also show the python skinned and they found "full grown Impala ewe had just been swallowed."

This picture makes me cringe. That would freak me out if i came upon it. Do snakes eat dead things? Cuz i'm sure i'd die of a heart attack

Pythons aren't poisonous and simply coil around their prey to kill it, then they swallow it whole. So my guess, TM, would be a python would not eat you if you first die of a heart attack... although, if your body is still warm, they would probably think you were alive and proceed as they usually do... coil around to be sure you were dead, then swallow :/

... only trying to help...

Now, I think you perhaps want to think about things and make a decision... die of heart attack or die from being squeezed?

Or perhaps better yet, attempt to simply avoid them (especially the ones big enough to swallow a human)

I could get away, got a BIG gun :). Just playin, if I didn't have it with me, not a chance. They squeez tight, when you exhale they squeez a little tighter, and so on, and so on. Although bones will break, that is not their intent. If they latched onto you, and you had a heart attack, they could care less. Your dinner. Not absolutely sure if they scavenge, my guess is they do.

When I was station at Ft. Hood, Texas. I and a friend would set out and go to a lot of ranches and ask the land owners permission to go on their land and hunt for rattle snakes for their vemon. Their is a lot of money in this. But I advise people don't do this, I and my friend are professionals in catching the snakes. You can actually get injuried if you don't know what you are doing.

There used to be a rattlesnake round-up, in Texas, sometime during (Spring?)the year. It was open to anyone wanting to try their hand at catching rattlers. (You couldn't pay me enough.)

They'd round up hundreds of the snakes, and put them in glass/plexiglass pits.

People would actually stand in these pits, with the snakes, and have their pictures taken.

The snakes would be milked for their venom, then killed and skinned. They'd fry the meat and eat it.

This was about 20 years ago, and all done for population control. I Don't know if the practice is still being continued, or not.
