Palin email hack raises a question a lot of people seem to have been ignoring: what the hell is a government official doing conducting sensitive government business on an unsecured private account? Don't get me wrong, I like the woman. But that was just a dumbass and maybe an illegal thing to do.

Don't believe everything you read on the internet. This was her personal yahoo email. No government business was in those emails.

From the NY Times.

" While Ms. Palin took office promising a more open government, her administration has battled to keep information secret. Her inner circle discussed the benefit of using private e-mail addresses. An assistant told her it appeared that such e-mail messages sent to a private address on a “personal device” like a BlackBerry “would be confidential and not subject to subpoena.”

Ms. Palin and aides use their private e-mail addresses for state business. A campaign spokesman said the governor copied e-mail messages to her state account “when there was significant state business.”

On Feb. 7, Frank Bailey, a high-level aide, wrote to Ms. Palin’s state e-mail address to discuss appointments. Another aide fired back: “Frank, this is not the governor’s personal account.”

Mr. Bailey responded: “Whoops~!”

Mr. Bailey, a former midlevel manager at Alaska Airlines who worked on Ms. Palin’s campaign, has been placed on paid leave; he has emerged as a central figure in the trooper investigation."

Basically put, Gov. Palin knew what she was doing when she was using the private email account to discuss government affairs with her inner circle.

However, nothing will come of it since the account was deleted. The only people caught will most likely be some Anonymous members if the FBI and Secret Service really wish to devote their time to do so.

Right holly. There was nothing wrong in what she did. This is so petty anyway. Probably a former implant.

Question: Do you actually believe any e-mail account is totally protected?

No e-mail accounts are protected. They are making something out of nothing. Again. I guess when the tanning bed story failed they had to come up with something. OMG OMG someone used a personal e-mail account for work! OMG OMG! Dumb.

They know they have no way of winning with her running, so they will stoop to all levels to make her look bad. What the idiot didn't think about when he/she hacked into her computer and posted her files, that can be traced. I think the feds are getting a cell ready for that jerk right now.
Wonder if Oman and/or Biden paid for this?

She got busted.
Plain and simple.

Certain people think that these hackings may be linked to Obama/Biden or the Democratic party?

And they think that the 'Democrats' are looking for the slightest bit of damning evidence?

Hm.

I don't think Obama had anything to do with it, but I wouldn't put it past the DNC.
People believe whatever they want to believe no matter what the facts are.

I can't figure out why she is such a target for hate and distortion. She isn't running for President and she doesn't make stupid statements like Biden. "It's patriotic to pay higher taxes" "Stand Up Charlie (to a paralyzed man) "Hillary would have been a better choice than me". Sighhhhhhhhhh it boggles my mind.

Knowing how Soros operates via troofers, email rumormongering and such, it wouldn't be a far cry to hire a hacker to capture an ISP and hack into it. I have kids in my freshman class that could probably do it. It just makes me wonder why in the world the libs are so darned scared of her.

We know she is not running for President, McCain is and he's the fool that picked her. He showed America he got desperate and knew he had to do something drastic to grab a few votes and take some of the play away from Obama.
She's stupid for using her personal email for business. I don't care who hacked it or why. Now she will blame someone else and fire them for it.

Horschach, you are a liar. Don't come on here lying like that because I will call you out every time. The Feds had already reviewed her email so that's b.s. and you're too damn stupid to know it.

Another thing, quoting the NY Times losed your credibility as it is the most flagrant leftist rag in our nation.

Finally, those a-holes who hacked her email will be in federal prison before it is all over - I assure you.

By the way, where are all the civil liberty groups that were worried about the feds looking at private emails? Quiet aren't they?

This has been linked to the 20 year old son of a Tennessee Democratic Congressman. The feds have contacted him as a person of interest. The 20 year old man attends the University of Tennessee. Funny, I keep reading comments by libs that the McCain campaign did this to make them look bad. Typical of them to never be able to own up to any wrong doing.

Whoop di do. Wow what a tragedy. I'am so glad Kennedy and willie didn't do anything this bad. This is so trivial compared to those idiots. E-mail is nothing compared to sex and murder.

Moankie, key with this email issue is that the Feds already determinined there were absolutely no government business being conducted in emails.

It was all personal business, pictures, etc.
