Republicans Lack Heart!Ann and Nancy Wilson are pissed at the Republican Party and have fired off a cease and desist letter to the McCain/Palin campaign.

Specifically, the Heart women are upset that the GOP has used their classic "Barracuda" as a theme song for Sarah Palin. TMZ obtained a statement from Heart's rep, who says "The Republican campaign did not ask for permission to use the song, nor would they have been granted that permission."

The statement goes on: "We have asked the Republican campaign publicly not to use our music. We hope our wishes will be honored."

We're told Ann was watching TV today and heard the song at the convention when Palin was touted.

UPDATE
: Twenty minutes after we posted this story, the GOP ended the evening after McCain's speech with the song, "Barracuda."

How wide a range of music do you listen to?

Personally, I'll listen to anything that's not country.

ABBA Drummer Found Dead

Swedish super-band ABBA's long-time drummer Ola Brunkert was found dead in his Mallorca, Spain home over the weekend.

Spanish police say the gruesome death was caused by a freak accident in which Brunkert bled to death after puncturing his throat with a broken piece of glass. According to CNN, police believe the drummer may have fallen against a glass partition that separated his kitchen from his garden, causing the glass to break and fatally cut his throat.

Brunkert was not one of the four "famous" members of ABBA, but was a studio drummer who played on all their albums.

Jeff Healey has passed away at age 41 after a lifelong battle with cancer. He was first diagnosed with retinoblastoma at the age of one, which led to his blindness. He fought with cancer through much of his life. Jeff was one of a kind. He is probably best known for his unique playing style, where he lays the guitar flat on his lap to play. He was a fiery blues player. His biggest hit was the beautiful ballad Angel Eyes, and is also well known for his appearance in the film Road House. In his last few years, Jeff had taken a different turn musically, and had developed a fondness for dixieland jazz. He hosted a jazz radio show, and even started his own jazz band, Jeff Healey and the Jazz Wizards. I heard them on XM radio, and didn't even realize it was the same Jeff Healey. They sounded like something straight out of the 20s. As amazing a guitar player as he was, in the Jazz Wizards, he switched to playing trumpet. Very cool. Check out this video of them live, with Jeff stepping outside his guitar slinger persona to play some horn.

Robbie Carrico

TMZ has learned the 26-year-old long-haired wannabe's mane is actually a wig and it's got "Idol" execs flipping out. Sources tell us Robbie never talks about his matted down piece and that makes production members feel like it's the blonde elephant in the room. It seems Simon was right last night -- Robbie is a fake!
