In case it isn't obvious, when living next door to a boxer, don't ask him to turn the music down.
Michael Bentt's neighbor, Mark Emerson, allegedly learned this the hard way. In a lawsuit, Emerson claims that Bentt pummeled him after he asked the pugilist to keep the noise down. And prepare to wince as we recount Emerson's damage: "A broken eye socket, a broken cheek bone, two black eyes, a bruised collar bone, numbness in the face, a chronically drooping eye socket and cheek" and on and on and on.
Emerson wants unspecified damages. Bentt's reps didn't respond to a request for comment.

Breaking News: Johnson Out As Dallas Head Coach
April 30, 2008 - 2:12 pm
ESPN - The
Dallas Mavericks fired
Avery Johnson on Wednesday, a day following the team's second consecutive first-round exit from the NBA playoffs, ESPN.com has learned.
Johnson became Mavs coach during the 2004-05 season and walks away
with a 194-70 record (.735), but only a 23-24 mark in the playoffs.
The Mavs have now lost 12 out of their last 15 postseason games after taking a 2-0 lead in the Finals against Miami.
Mark Cuban and Johnson engaged in an emotional argument after a
March 18 home loss to the Lakers and sources indicated that Cuban
actually considered firing Johnson before the playoffs.
Both the Mavs and Johnson wanted a speedy resolution to the
situation so the coach could pursue current openings in Chicago and New
York.

There's
no doubt that using the n-word is stupid -- but allegedly using the
n-word in front of a guy that's over six-feet-tall, weighs nearly 400
pounds and calls himself "The World's Strongest Man" is beyond idiotic.
Enter WWE writer Michael Hayes.
TMZ has confirmed that Hayes,
the head writer for WWE's "Smackdown," has been suspended for 60 days
-- allegedly for using racist language in front of wrestler Mark Henry.
Michael's haymaker was supposedly thrown while out drinking at a party
during the weekend of Wrestlemania, where
ProWrestling.net reports Hayes told Henry, "I'm more of a n----- than you are."
It's unknown whether or not Hayes was subsequently hit in the face with a metal chair.
A
rep for the WWE released this statement: "Due to inappropriate
behavior, Michael Hayes was suspended for 60 days with no pay. In order
to return to work, Michael Hayes will be required to undergo further
evaluation."

Melo Busted for DUI
NBA star Carmelo Anthony was arrested on suspicion of DUI early this morning.
The
23-year-old Denver Nuggets forward was driving on Interstate 25 in
Colorado at around 4:00 AM when he was pulled over and taken into
custody. Anthony was driving a silver Mercedes and police say he was
stopped for failing to drive in a single lane and failing to dim his
lights.
Anthony's attorney, Dan Recht, said, "He cooperated by
consenting to a blood test, the results of which will not be available
for approximately two weeks ... There was no accident and no one was
hurt." He is due back in court on May 14

Hughes describes Serra, who was forced to withdraw from their Ultimate Fighting Championship title fight Dec. 29 due to injury, as a sub-par fighter who earned his title shot through a reality TV show and had one lucky scrap that made him champ.
Serra suffered two herniated disks in his lower back during training and Canadian Georges St. Pierre will now take his place at UFC 79: Nemesis at month's end.

More like Serra cried to his dr to get him out of it.

Andy Garcia -- Taylor Saved My Niece!Posted Nov 29th 2007 11:40AM by TMZ Staff
Andy
Garcia is hailing NFL star Sean Taylor as a "hero" who lost his life
trying to protect Andy's niece Jackie, who was Taylor's girlfriend and
the mother of their baby. Yes--
that Andy Garcia.

Garcia tells the
Miami Herald
that Taylor's "heroic action" saved Jackie and daughter, also named
Jackie, and called the incident "a testament to his humanity and
courage." Taylor was shot when he grabbed a machete to confront an
intruder, while Jackie Garcia reportedly hid in the bedroom with the
18-month-old baby. Until now, Andy and his family had not given any
public comment on the killing.
"We will always remember him as a
caring and loving individual, especially to his new family," says Andy.
The couple met at Gulliver Prep School in Miami-Dade county.

HDnet was free with the service I had.. Til I saw this ad in email. Seems it was only free for awhile. Now I'm not authorized.. Half of the upper HD channels are not authorized now. Oh yea, I'll be calling Time Warner..
EDIT: I called TW and they resent the signal and I got it back! YAY! They aren't totally useless! LOL

Sean
Taylor, the Washington Redskins safety who was shot early Monday at his
home in Miami, has died, according to a family friend. He was just 24.
The
Pro Bowl safety had taken a bullet in his upper leg, reports the AP,
damaging an artery, causing serious blood loss and loss of
consciousness. According to his former lawyer, Richard Sharpstein,
Taylor seemed to show signs of recovery when he squeezed a nurse's hand
late Monday night, but never regained consciousness thereafter.
Miami-Dade
Police are investigating the attack, which occurred when an intruder
apparently entered Taylor's home, in what the cops are considering a
possibly burglary.
Couture is holding a press conference this afternoon live from the X-Treme Couture gym in Las Vegas,
Nevada at 1:30pm local time (4:30pm Eastern). The MMA legend will
answer “questions concerning his relationship with the UFC, future
plans, MMA as a sport and anything else pertaining to his resignation.”
