I was thinking the same thing! I sat with my jaw dropped as I watched the evening news this weekend. As journalists, we hear the "worst of the worst" stories every day, but still I felt a tinge of shock to hear about the malicious crimes this weekend. Much too young lives were put to a trajic end. I'm especially saddened for the young children involved, two of whom were allegedly killed by their mother's boyfriend and two others who were set on fire, allegedly by their own mother! If these allegations prove to be true, these children were hurt by the very people who are suppose to protect them... the people they should be able to trust the most. Unbelievable.

The senseless loss of young lives occuring almost every weekend lately is a disturbing trend that makes my stomach churn. What can possibly be going through the heads of these parents who cause harm to their precious children. In my most angry moments, I could never contemplate such acts of violence and/or murder toward my children or grandchildren.

What's going on in Haltom City lately. It seems like somebody in that city is harming children or each other in more dispicable ways every week?

The answer lies in the disregard for others because of the focus is ever on self. You can attribute that to the breakdown in the family, a disregard for the Creator and again a focus on self rather thaN OTHERS. I know this is a simple answer and not indicative of the total answer but nevertheless a basuis at least.
