Hello Everyone,

I hope y'all had a nice Thanksgiving. Mine was superb! This was the first year in quite a long time that I didn't have to deal with airports, and all the drama associated with traveling a long distance for a short trip. I spent the day with my folks out in E. Texas. My mom and I took care of some of the easier chores (though we still worked hard!), while my step-father worked his magic in the kitchen, baking up a storm and cooking some of the best turkey, stuffing and yams you've ever tasted. Thanksgiving and Christmas are truly his holidays to shine.  We watched the Cowboys game, of course, after  which I promptly zonked out on the couch, waking only to take a phone call and watch Wedding Crashers before going back to sleep.

Food, Family, Fun, lots of Sleep and oh soo much to be thankful for. Doesn't get any better than that.

I'd love to know what everyone else did with their Thanksgiving. Was it restful? Are you still playing host to visiting relatives? Did you travel? Any holiday nightmare situations  that always seem so awful as they're happening but are sure to get big laughs as you reminisce around the table next year?? Do tell....

Hi Natalie :) It's great to hear that you had a nice Thanksgiving!

My family went to my sister's this year. She got the candied sweet potatoes a little done, but they were perfect to me...LOL...Not much memorable happened this year. The pepper mill broke and dumped peppercorns in my hubby's plate this time, last year it was the salt...LOL. The last 2 years we've had to leave much earlier than I wanted to due to my leg, but we always have a good time. Maybe next year we can stay for the games and stuff we usually play later :)

Wrongway00,
an uneventful Thanksgiving is sometimes just what the doctor ordered. Sorry to hear about the pepper mill. But if that was the only casualty, then I'd say that's pretty darn good.

I am thankful every year that we don't have the "family fight" that others seems to have. We all get along pretty well, we're very close. The pepper mill was funny...LOL.

I told my hubby that the one thing I was most thankful for this year was being out of the hospital bed and back in my own king-size bed. I hated that stupid bed and I am sooooooo glad it's gone...LOL

I had a great Thanksgiving, thank you!
I cooked everything here at home and the house smelled wonderful. My daughter and her fiance came over for dinner and we all stuffed ourselves. No big gathering, just 5 of us. My daughter is 23 so this was her first year to make a couple of the pie's herself, and she did fine. In addition to the holiday hub bub I tended to the hubby who had just had surgery and could barely get around. I loved it all!

Hi Wrongway00 and Cowboyswife58,
wrongway, I'm sorry to hear you've had to spend some time in the hospital. That couldn't have been fun. Sleeping in your own bed as opposed to a hospital bed is definitely something to be thankful for!

And Cowyboyswife58, it sounds like you had a wonderful family gathering. I'm impressed your daughter took on the challenge of providing the dessert. And your husband..I hope he knows how lucky he is!

Hi Natalie,

My Thanksgiving was somewhat restful, except for watching the loss in three Overtimes by LSU (who were ranked #1 at the time) against Arkansas on Friday. That was very depressing to watch.

I cooked on Thursday morning, finishing just in time for the Cowboy game. I opted to grill some chicken breasts that I injected with Creole Butter Marinade. I wanted to try out the injector and thought this was a good time to do so.

Hello Everyone. I have the honor of co-anchoring the weekend news with Richard Ray and I report three days a week. I truly love what I do and I think this is a wonderful opportunity for us to get to know each other better. A couple of factoids about me...Dancing is a passion of mine, right next to eating good food, traveling and spending time with my family.
