This is whats bugging me.

Here we go again.  Just as we think things can't get much worse, Bush decides to go ahead with alowing the Mexican trucks to come accross the border. Clinton already laid the ground work for this and apparently Bush thinks it is a great idea also. This would be fine with me too if I stayed on the Whitehouse grounds.

As if our highways weren't already dangerous enough, we get to dodge all the trucks from Mexico too. When will the madness ever stop. Can we get a president that will venture out in the real world in which we all navigate in. Do they never watch the News and see the accident rates, crime rates, etc.

Please tell me that I'm not alone with my opinion here. What do the rest of you Tax Paying Bloggers think about this latest decision from Washington.

P.S. What do you American Truckers think about this also?

I don't like it one bit. The roads are dangerous enough. And they said the trucks will have to be insured and inspected, my foot! I believe that like I believe I can fly.

My husband, a former trucker, doesn't seem to have an issue with it. He says that's why they're supposed to be building this "super highway". I don't care, I see the way they already drive here and I think we're just giving them bigger "weapons" to hit us with.

Sounds to me like a permanent fix to our Population Explosion !

Plus, the added benifits of Elderly Drivers on the roads, they don't have a chance !!

Makes you wonder how this country has survived all these years, without them !! PUKE - PUKE !!! Hope I didn't get any on you !!!

LOL Furbie...You missed me!!

I am sooo glad I don't drive any longer. Made me sick when I found out I was unable to, I've lost a great deal of independance, but I have changed my mind.

If they enacted laws for the highway, similiar to what they have in Germany- it probably wouldn't be so bad. Those laws being.

1.) Trucks must stay in the right lane, unless it's to pass, or an emergency lane change- period.

2.) Trucks cannot exceed 72 MPH.
-----------------------------------------

If we could get laws like that passed, and enforced, having big rigs on the road, no matter who'd behind the wheel, would not be bad.

Passed on the same day, I'd like a law that said, anyone driving slower than the posted speed limit in the left lane, will be ticketed.

Nothing chaps my arse more than a joker out in the left lane, driving just fast enough to keep traffic boxed in behind them, and the car in the right lne, of which they are either pacing, or leisurely passing.

I bet we drove 15 miles behind a clown on I-20 Saturday, from Canton, TX headed east, before he or she finally got over to let everyone else go by.

I'm not saying I always agree with road rage, it's definitely not a good thing, nor is it good idea... But sometimes- I understand...

Yeap Herchel, I feel you pain. To this day I cannot understand why so many drivers want to leisurely drive in that left lane. I have a theory that some drivers get off on the power and control of holding up traffic. I think it is a deadly game that some drivers play.

I myself am a truck driver/delivery guy mostly local but occasionally regional for SYGMA(SYSCO foods). I want my family safe! That being said I know that U.S. truck drivers are held to very strict standards..(I.E. if my blood pressure is to high I don't get to do my job.) You see we have to get a complete medical exam bi-yearly to ensure that are health is up to par. I really don't think that they will be able to keep up with our standards. Furthermore I have not heard of any of my friends saying that they want to go driving on Mexican highways! I have been to Mexico about 8 or 10 times on vacation, their roads are awful! Free trade hurts jobs of hard working people all over the world but it sure benefits the Ceo's of large companies though...I don't like this idea one bit!

The teamsters are saying once they cross in the USA they will simply drop their loads like the Canadians are doing they will simply go pick up a other load and go take somewhere unknown parts here in the USA. It is other ploy to steal jobs from the hard working Americans here in the states

Monitor the number of accidents these Mexican drivers will cause.
