I have an idea for the Presidential Library that will save us tax payers millions and make SMU happy. Let me know what ya think.

Now that the economy is in such bad shape, fuel is so high and we tax payers are driving less and doing our part to conserve, it is only fair to ask the president to do the same.

Daddy Bush already has a Library in College Station, Texas and a Museum. I would suggest that Jr. put his stuff in with his daddy's stuff during these trying times. I think it is only fair with the shape our economy is in.

I know a lot of tax payers that are making sacrifices these days. If my household is low on funds, then I don't go out a build a new house and put myself in more debt.

The tax payers are getting pisssed watching our government waste money when we are the only ones cutting back on spending. One day the upper lower class and middle class tax payers might just get fed up and decide to become indigent then we will see who cuts back then. I get mad as hell watching this great country go down the tubes.

The money to build the library is from private donations, not money from the federal budget.

Are you sure it doesn't cost the tax payers anything? I may need to do some research.

I still think it is a waste of money, but that is what the federal government is all about.

The cost of building Presidential libraries is not at the expense of the taxpayer. However, the cost of administering Presidential libraries costs the taxpayers approx. 40 million dollars annually.

Thanks Ivyman, I knew it had to cost us in some way.

All public libraries (city, state, and federal) are funded by taxpayers. Hopefully, you do not believe that libraries are of such little concern that they should not be funded.

Do you want all the presidential libraries closed or just this one not to be built? At least maybe this one won't look like a trailer house like the one in Little Rock.

Nope, just this one, due to the shape of the economy. I really think that father and son could share the glory in one building that is already built.

I think one library is worth two in the Bush.

Two different times. Two different presidents. Too much information for one building.

Just close them all. If it's not important for GW to have his own, then close all of them. While your at it let's close ALL the public libraries. All they are good for is collecting dust. Then the Congress can have all that extra money to build bridges to nowhere.
