Wanted: new material here. This traffic blog is getting boring. We need some drama or something here. Help me out here, how about a road rage topic, or illegal immigrant drivers or something. LOL

I'm curious, what are drivers  thinking when they drive under the speed limit in the left hand lane of traffic on 4 lane highways. You see this more times than not. They hold up traffic and don't have a clue that some us like to drive the speed limit.

This causes traffic backups and road rage. I wish law enforcement would start writing tickets for it, or change the passing lane to the right lane.

It's that wonderfull time of the year again called the Christmas Season. Just remember the reason for the season and slow down and be curtious to other drivers. Most people we be in a hurry and stressed to the max trying to buy all those last minute gifts.

Just remember that driving around at the speed of sound to find that perfect gift is not worth your life or someone else's, no one wants a December funeral to remember you by.

December brings more traffic, more shoppers, more crime, and an assortment of all kinds of weather conditions to drive in.

Please be extra safe through the Holidays.

HAVE A MERRY CHRISTMAS

It is time for another Drive Friendly Campaign like we had in the 70's. We need the billboards, bumper stickers, highway signs and any other brain washing techniques that might promote friendly behavior from all of us on the highways. I truly believe that if we promoted friendly driving like American Idol is promoted, that the roads would be much safer.

We need a nationwide campaign this time around. Highway rudeness is not just a Texas problem. I just got back from a week long road trip to Colorado and New Mexico and it seems to be going on in other states as well. I still can't understand why people will do things with a vehicle that they would never do with a shopping cart in a Super Market. I observe lot of drivers just being impatient and pulling out in front of you or cutting you off. In my County you can follow a car for miles that is driving under the speed limit and then when you get to a passing lane they will speed up so you can't pass, happens more times than not and I don't know why.

Hardly a day goes by without seeing a road rage incident or observing an incident on the nightly News. People are living high stress lifestyles and it doesn't take much to trigger an event of Road Rage. We all have either seen it or experienced it. We need a larger Police presence on the highways too. Just seeing a patrol car is enough to deter most problems. Sometimes it seems like anything goes on the road and no law enforcement to say otherwise.

We all need to leave earlier, drive slower and pay attention to the road ahead and behind us. Be courteous to other drivers and maybe it will be contagious. Our survival depends on it, our highways will soon be more crowded than ever with the arrival of trucks from Mexico that will soon be here. Be safe out there!

This is whats bugging me.

Here we go again.  Just as we think things can't get much worse, Bush decides to go ahead with alowing the Mexican trucks to come accross the border. Clinton already laid the ground work for this and apparently Bush thinks it is a great idea also. This would be fine with me too if I stayed on the Whitehouse grounds.

As if our highways weren't already dangerous enough, we get to dodge all the trucks from Mexico too. When will the madness ever stop. Can we get a president that will venture out in the real world in which we all navigate in. Do they never watch the News and see the accident rates, crime rates, etc.

Please tell me that I'm not alone with my opinion here. What do the rest of you Tax Paying Bloggers think about this latest decision from Washington.

P.S. What do you American Truckers think about this also?

When it finally rains after a long drought. SLOW DOWN!!! The rain brings up all the oil and road film to the road surface and it becomes very slick, always has, always will. This will cause the vehicle to loose traction with the road surface. This can cause serious injury or death.

You drivers out there that are talking on a cell phone, watching your GPS, eating a hamburger, while your drinking a beer, reading a book, putting on your makeup, at 85 miles per hour, need to realize something. YOUR KILLING PEOPLE!!!!! You need to watch the road ahead of you. Another Police Officer was killed yesterday and I hear almost dailey of someone runing into someone else because they are not paying attention, or drinking, etc.

The main reason for this problem is that there are too many distactions in vehicles now days. Combine that with 80-90 miles per hour speeds that people are driving. Then ad the five star crash ratings on these new vehicles with front and side air bags. People are driving like they are invincible. Maybe we should add rear air bags on cars, so that when one of these idiots (and you know who you are) rear ends us, it might save our lives.
