Good viewers voice tonight. I hadn't heard anything about the media "whining" when the word didn't go out about a search and rescue.

But, would 4 hours have helped? In a rushing, surging creek ... you never know.

Could this possibly be related to the ill feelings heald towards new helicopters earlier last week regarding the hostage situation?

There seems to be a lot of bad blood there. I suggest counseling.

I saw this newscast. That kid was GONE when his buddy saw him go under. SAD, YES!!! The media didn't want a bunch of wanna be "rescuers" out there endangering their lives. Instead of ONE kid, should it have been 400? Or maybe 10???? Sometimes they have a difficult decision deciding what is best for the "masses". I am sorry, but if "hiding" this kept one person home and alive, then yes, it's worth it!

I feel so bad for the family of this little boy.

But, I believe that if the rescue search started as soon as it was able to start, there was no reason to open it to everyone.

Illusions is correct. Why have so many others out there that could have been in the way or possible get injured as well.

These kids have ALWAYS been warned not to play in these waters/alleys/culverts, etc when it is raining this heavy. His parents should have had him inside. ( I know that is where I told my son to keep his behind)

I do hope they find this poor boy. Atleast to give the family closure.

I have been thinking about him and visions run through my head of them finding him alive somewhere. But, I know that is just the mother in me.

My prayers to the family.
