In light of being raked over the coals and blasted by "Christians" for being born gay, I am starting to doubt Christianity. Agnosticism is becoming more appealing and is congruent with my scientific proof with rationales as I was taught in nursing school. I'm beginning to feel that it would have been a cruel joke to create me gay then call my entire existence and my falling in love a sin. The Bible, written by man as remembered by God centuries later, is filled with ridiculous mandates which if were practiced today would certainly get one arrested. What if it is all folklore legend? Why are the clobber passages (which don't even include the words "gay" or "homosexual") regurgitated ad nauseum by "Christians", but the ones regarding divorce or eating of certain foods simply ignored?
The Bible says both that a woman must not marry her deceased husband's brother, and that, in certain circumstances, she must do so. If you have the misfortune to be a childless widow with an unmarried brother-in-law, it is logically impossible for you to avoid disobeying `God's law'.
Samuel ordered Saul, in a war, to kill not only every man, woman, and child of the enemy, but also all the sheep and cattle. Saul, however, let the sheep and the cattle live, and for this we are told to condemn him. I have never been able to admire Elisha for cursing the children who laughed at him, or to believe (what the Bible asserts) that a benevolent Deity would send two she-bears to kill the children.
Would God have such an uneasy vanity as to be offended by those who doubt His existence?
