brave bicyclists

on my way home this morning i encountered about 15 people on bicycles in the middle of the road. they ride on highway 99 (speed limit 65) as well as harlem road which is a two lane road with no shoulder. perhaps i've seen too much trauma in my career, but my question is: what good is a healthy heart if you are paralyzed from the eyebrows down?
