Do you want slot machines at Sky Harbor?

I often think of this.  Once when I was flying out of town, I checked with the airlines web site and it said get to the airport extra early because there would be long security lines.

I arrived two hours early!   I got thru security, with no problem about 15 minutes, and then when I get to the gate, they announce the flight will be delayed about an hour!  I’m there 3 hours early!  And as it turns out, the flight was actually an hour and a half late.  What am I going to do for 3 and a half hours?

This is where slot machines come in.  We talked with Mayor Phil Gordon this morning about his idea of putting slot machines at Sky Harbor to raise more money for the city.

If the slot machines had been installed then, I would not only be late, but also arrive at my destination broke!

What do you think – slot machines at Sky Harbor?

Rick

I wouldn't mind having them there. Sometimes while I'm waiting for my plane to board I get bored. (no pun intended). But I'm not a big gambler so it wouldn't be a problem for me, just a diversion. I do however, know a few people that might miss their flight because they just can't stop.

Slot machines at Sky Harbor?
Why not Slot Machines in the entry to the Phoenix Municipal Center. Why not Slot Machines at each Police Sub Station and Firestation. How about Slot Machines in the Phoenix Police Jail, both waiting and incarcerated areas.(Don't even think about the County Jail, Joe is way too smart to ever consider that.) How about Suns Stadium, and Chase Ballpark, or even all levels of the new Civic Center / Convention Center. If you want to fleece people, do it in your buildings, the citizens of Phoenix are used to it. Leave the traveling public out of it. Cut your salary if you really think the city has a financial problem. Cut your 7 figure body guard detail.
No one even take you seriously.

I don't know Rick. I would think that after paying the rediculous air fair fees today. There wouldn't be much change in my pocket to put in a slot machine.

Get yourself a Blackberry 8830. That way if you have nothing to do at the Airports... Rick, you can watch live streaming video's of Fox10 news. Better yet, you can blog with us, while your sitting around waiting!

We all want slot machines at Sky Harbor and a wet-bars too. The slots and wet-bars will entertain those in long security lines and those waiting, as flights are often late. For many hours or more, slot machines and wet-bars will be a welcomed convenience. Mayor Phil Gordon can chat with the airport patrons, make balloon-animals and tell them stories about the "Big Bad Sheriff" and keep the crowds amused with his fairy-tales.

If slot machines and wet-bars were installed then, we would not only be late, but also tipsy as we arrive at our destinations broke; possibly recalling the stories by the mayor.

But if, 'Indian Slots & Wet-bars' are placed at Sky Harbor, possibly all tribal nations may be incorporated into a "Casino~Air~Arizona" known as "Wherindafugarwii Flight Odyssey". Could be interesting!

Many may have some reservations, I fear; but, one never knows until one flies.

The mayor's proctologist called, he may have brain damage.

I looked up the doctor's name.
It's Doctor Cyclops.
Medical Report was destroyed along with certain brain cells.
I understand it's recorded in several public rest rooms through-out Phoenix.

Hope I helped!

Traffic and parking are a nightmare at the airport already. Gordon is smoking crack. Get rid of the illegals and there will be less crime, less kids in our schools, less people in our libraries, etc. Net result, we save money. If money is a problem, why did we built the costly light rail joke?

What part of the airport is Mr. Bean going to give to the Indians? it has to be Indian property to gamble on or do I not understand the law? or doesnt the law matter to Mr. Bean. That would be great, then the Indians could shut down the airport when they get ticked off, like Pima road on the edge of Scottsdale a few years ago.

Taxing gambling was once referred to as sin tax. And leftist aka progressives were the first to cry foul.
So what has changed? All of a sudden it is ok to put sin taxes on Americans? Let us not forget the leftist aka progressive gov wants to use speeding tickets to balance the state budget.

While Phils at it, how about a Whore house at the airport? After all, that too is legal in Nevada. With these late flights more income for the city.

Sorry but slot machines are not the answer to this mayor's woes.

How about this Mayor Gordon, look where you can cut the bloat out of your current budget. I'll bet you can find plenty of misused taxpayer dollars to fund your jail.

The party is over.
