San Diego is not perfect.

Well we’re all back from our family vacation in San Diego.  And I want you to know, San Diego is not perfect.  While there, we enjoyed 75 degree weather, cool ocean breezes, plenty of sunshine and lots of sailing on “Airtime”.

We brought our own food, and ate most meals on the boat.  One of the things Ruth brought along was a real treat for me.  Pistachio nuts.  We saved them until the last few days and when we finally got to them.  Guess what?  They were ruined!  The heavy humidity from the ocean air, made them mushy – soft – lousy!

This was the 2nd worst thing of our vacation.  The first was –for me- not “The Happiest Place on Earth”!  But that’s another story for another day.

By the way, when we got home, Ruth put the pistachios in the oven on a cookie sheet and baked them for about 15 minutes at 300 degrees.  They were fine when we all gobbled them up that night.

So you see, San Diego’s not perfect, the humidity makes you soft, especially if you’re a pistachio nut!

I’m so glad to be back.

Rick

Aug 11, 2008 | 6:46 AM Hi Rick, Yes Hamburgers are from Hamburg Germany just as the FRANKFURTER Wurst (sausage) is coming from Frankfurt Germany.
You know that J.Kennedy said "I am a Berliner" when he was in Berlin. Then he went to Hamburg and there he said : yes indeed : " I am a Hamburger" lol lol :0)

San Diego is perfect except for the soggy pistachios. Oh and the crowded freeways and the tourists during the summer and the high cost of living and even the June gloom. Other than that San Diego is perfect. If I could change all those things about SD I'd love to live there again.

Rick, take all of us on your boat, so we may also experience
the calamity of your San Diego Pistachio-nut sojourn.
Sharing is understanding! What better way to express
one's event than to allow all nutz the right to soak oneself
in the heavy humidity from the ocean air
and to be placed on a cookie sheet.

As Popeye the Sailor said, when he was stationed at U. S. N. T. C.
in his eloquent voice,
"...All Nutz for One and One Nut for All!
Yuck! Yuck! Yuck! Yuck! Yuck!" Toot Toot!

OMG, Here we go about SD again! You talk about so much that it should be perfect! Or rather you talk about your BOAT so much it makes me sick! It's too bad that you have captive audience or noone would want to hear about SD and your BOAT! I think the pistachios story was so you tell us that you have a BOAT in SD again, and again and again! Give the BOAT a rest already, we KNOW you have one, OK.
