Wondering if the Fox4 bloggers can shed some light on any known SPEED TRAPS  around the area.   Now, I'm not asking for the normal traffic enforcement types -- just those known as real speed traps.   Thanks.

I am a guilty party of 1. I drive 75-80 mph on the highway and shouldn't. I'm sorry. I will slow it down!

Let me clear up this post. I'm referring to the TRUE speed trap! Like the ones where the speed limit drops from 55 to 30 without any further warning and the cops are sitting there waiting for the unsuspecting drivers. Or the ones where the police are constantly sitting, day in and day out, just the other side of the 3" sign post that shows a lower limit.

Ah, yes. Those. I also have seen speed traps that include a cop on a bridge above the highway or whatever while a cop is hiding on the same route you are on and the cop on the bridge talks to the one in your direction to tell him about you. Those ones suck!

The worst one I know is North of Hwy 75 on Hwy 69 on the way from here to Muskogee, OK. It is Stringtown, OK. The speed suddenly drops from 70 to 60 then 55, however I have seen cars pulled over while going at the speed limit. I make sure there is always one car or more going faster than me through that area. When alone at night I go 5 mph below the speed limit.

Rusty Nickel just about describes me. I'm a bit rusty and don't really have two nickels to rub together. Retired retail executive who now works part-time in the home mortgage field. Travel extensively throughout North and East Texas, sometimes logging as much as 1200 miles per week. Work when I want to, play when I need to. Hobbies include cooking (eating), gardening and entertaining grandchildren. Dislike obnoxious people, arragant people and those who are so one sided that they need to be propped up so they don't fall over. Can't understand why parents fail to raise children who respect others and take responsibility for their own actions. I have a couple of "rotten kids" who have a couple of "rotten kids" -- and, I admit that I've probably had a hand in making 'em that way. I love kids, dogs, fast cars and lots of good food. Hate commercials that show foods that I can never get when I order the same thing....still love to cook and hate to clean up afterwards.
