Ever wonder why people have to take all their relatives to the doctor's office with them?   I went to the doctor today and there must have been fifteen kids sitting in all of the chairs, making it rather hard to find a place to sit and wait.   Other kids were playing on the floor and running all over the place.  You would have thought I was in the middle of a Day Care, not in a doctor's office.

One man must have had his wife, mother, sisters, daughters and all of their kids there.  When he left, so did about twelve other people who had been talking and sitting around him prior to his going in to see the doctor.    I wonder which bus they got on cause they couldn't have all come in one vehicle otherwise.   My, it must be wonderful to have that many people worried about you.  Either that or these people just absolutely have no life.

Honesly, the only time I've seen that myself, has been with hispanic families. It seems that's just the way they like to do things, which isn't so customary in this country.

I don't care what the reason is for ALL of them being there. It is rude when all those kids are there and they take up all the seats and an elderly person walks in and needs a seat and they won't move.

I have given my seat up on several occasions due to this issue.

Parents need to teach manners or leave them at home.

I've seen that too. ER's are a good place for that too. I think the doctor's office would have every right to ask that only 1 or 2 family members stay. Many offices, especially OB/GYN's don't allow children because they can carry germs that could be dangerous for expectant mothers & newborns. I understand if a mother absolutely MUST take her children with her, but in most cases, it's best to find a sitter. Also, many pediatrician's offices schedule well baby visits separately from sick child visits. I know I get very annoyed when I see a doctor's office that looks more like a daycare center or a free clinic rather than what's it's designed to be.

Honestly - these people were NOT hispanic. But I would bet you that there was a car or two in the weeds in front of the trailer and none of them have ever been to a dentist....

Ummm, school is out!!! No money for a sitter. Free coffee and cold water in the fountain.

Almost like a day at Six Flags for some people!!!

Haven't any of yall ever said anything to the parents of the unruly kids? i have told them to make their kids move and let sick ppl sit down. i wasnt the most popular person to them but i definitely was to everyone else. I would have sworn i heard a cheer

And in resteraunts......OMG if you have children that behave like animals then DO NOT bring them out in public...only you the parent loves them when they behave like that (not meaning you as in anyone specific :)

I haven't noticed so much at the Dr. office but have often wondered why the whole family has to go to the grocery store.

I don't mean just a few but I think they bring the aunts, uncles, cousins and a few grandmas and grandpas thrown in. lol

Then they will meet another family in the middle of the aisle and stand there and jabber their Spanish to one another. It's impossible to get around them and the kids chasing each other all over the store.

Amazing that most comments are against family and friends accompanying you in a country where you are suppossed to have the freedom to go where you want , with who you want

oh , wait , they are abusing your right to YOUR rights

Of course people have the right to go, but it's just common courtesy to limit the number of people tagging along to a doctors office.

What would the point be in bringing half the family tree along? They all can't be in the examining room.

I hear ya scottbee. I always wonder just when one of the mex...er kids is going to get hurt by running into the frozen turkey aisle door while riding a kids bike (unsold) around the store, blaring the horn at everyone... Nuts.

Rusty Nickel just about describes me. I'm a bit rusty and don't really have two nickels to rub together. Retired retail executive who now works part-time in the home mortgage field. Travel extensively throughout North and East Texas, sometimes logging as much as 1200 miles per week. Work when I want to, play when I need to. Hobbies include cooking (eating), gardening and entertaining grandchildren. Dislike obnoxious people, arragant people and those who are so one sided that they need to be propped up so they don't fall over. Can't understand why parents fail to raise children who respect others and take responsibility for their own actions. I have a couple of "rotten kids" who have a couple of "rotten kids" -- and, I admit that I've probably had a hand in making 'em that way. I love kids, dogs, fast cars and lots of good food. Hate commercials that show foods that I can never get when I order the same thing....still love to cook and hate to clean up afterwards.
