Hello All,

I have kept tight lipped about the situation because I had already laid into Ms. Aguliar and the news station about their handling of the story.  I work from home and saw the news at noon, and was probably one of the first to respond as I began typing before the story even ended.  I see that many of you had questions as to how she found Mr. Walton to begin with.

With that said, Ms. Aguliar actually responded to my e-mail.   I, as many of you told her of my disgust, questioned her tactic, her bio, whose story she was reporting, etc.  While I found out how she found him, her response to me (I believe) was still very  snippy and matter of fact, as if she was in the right, and how "I" took the story the wrong way.  After I began to see the outrage in the community, I wanted to reply back to her e-mail and let her know that  "I" was apparently not the only one who saw it this way...but, what was done was done, and I knew that this was coming, so left the matter alone.  This was her response to me:

Thanks for your feedback.

First of all, Mr. Walton is the one who told me where he was going to buy his shotgun. Though he didn't want his face on camera, after he showed us the new weapon.... he did want to share his side of the story.  He didn't want folks to think he was some kind of criminal.  That's why he shared his tears, his remorse, and his side of the story.    I also reminded viewers that Mr. Walton did not break any laws, because he was in the right.   I'm sorry you took my story the wrong way.   You didn't see my story yesterday...when I pointed out that the man Mr. Walton killed  had a criminal record involving theft.   Rebecca Aguilar Fox 4 News.
