Ok, so I haven't an excuse but have you flown the Bush and seen the speed limit sign to the far right that says 45. Of course you are at the far left at altitude and are on cruise, surrounded by other flyers. You enter the toll ( the one you use when you have a toll tag) Upon exiting you get stopped for speeding. Officer I was doing speed limit (60 mph) "Yes, you were, the speed limit entering is 45" the sign is down there. Well, what about the others, " I was keeping up with traffic, couldn't slow down or would have been tail gated. I really thought the 45 for slowing to enter the lane to pay. Response from the States finest, No it isn't ( But I stopped you) Oh, well now I remember to slow as best I can. Been told the officer hides out on the Collin County side of the booth and bam gotcha...

I agree with you that the NTTA needs to add a 40/45 speed limit sign on the left side (mounted to the center retaining wall) as you approach the Toll Plazas on the GWB & DNT. I think the one speed limit sign on the right side of the road confuses alot of drivers & they think it ONLY applies to the far right pay cash lanes. I had always understood the "toll plaza / reduced speed ahead" & speed limit sign applied to the ENTIRE toll plaza. So after several discussions / disagreements with some friends who also drive the tollway...I did the unthinkable...I called & asked..."Does the 40/45mph apply to ENTIRE plaza or just to the PAY CASH lanes?" I talked to 2 different people INCLUDING a DPS Trooper & was told YES, the 40/45 applies to the ENTIRE plazas, INCLUDING the "TOLL TAG" lanes. I then asked what if a driver is going with the flow? The DPS Trooper said the driver may be going with the flow, but if the flow is speeding... speeding is speeding & any or all of the drivers may be given a ticket. I always just ease off the accelarator as I approach the plazas & GRADUALLY slow down to the 40/45 as i go thru & then accelerate back to the regular speed limit. Of course I had a friend tell me i was going to cause an accident, the Trooper said NOPE, you are obeying the law & the other driver who rear ends you is breaking the law (speeding) & will be the one cited / blamed for the accident. Well that is my take or the facts as i understand them.

Thank you for your reply. I have found what you describe to be true as well; Personnally I would rather be wrong than be rear ended at 70+.
