scottythecomic's whimsical rantings

by scottythecomic from North Dallas

More stupidity is emanating from the Dallas City Council chambers.  If it isn't graft and corruption, it is petty bickering and racial divide.  Seems the latest division began over the term black hole.  In this instance, council member Kenneth Mayfield called the city's ticket collection facility a black hole.

An immediate reaction arose from known troublemaker, John Wiley Price, when is his abject stupidity, he retorted, "White hole."  While Mayfield's comment was obviously directed towards the way money is sucked in, Wiley's comment was decidely racist.  His racially sensitive nature inflamed the council unnecessarily.

But where stupidity rears its ugly head, even more abounds. Enter  the arrogance and stupidity of Judge Thomas Jones, who asked for an apology from Commissioner Mayfield.  Say what?

Mr. Price took objection to Mayfield's comments, relating in essence that the term "black hole" had negative connotations for black people. Say what?  How, pray tell, does a scientific term now become a racially insensitive and derogatory stab?

The antics of both Price and Jones should be an insult to all sensible men and women of Dallas. Their collective claim of racism where none existed is a slap in the face to those who truly have been subjected to racism.

It would appear that some on the council use a fear or scare tactic to manipulate other Commissioners. Too, this conduct by the aforementioned is typically referred to (and rightly so) as race-baiting. It is an ignorant, immature and stupid attempt to deflect the true merits of an issue and sidetrack it with another false attack. It can also be called a red herring.

Price and Jones are part and parcel pf why racism continues to exist in Dallas and everywhere.  Perhaps they have learned well from their two mentors: Al Sharpton and Jesse Jackson.

OMG, I scrolled through news and there are 3 or 4 on the same topic... Price being a jackass. LOL I'm leaving mine up anyway. He needs all the bad publicity he can get.
He is undoubtedly a racist... and a stupid man.

I agree with you, but please get the facts right. John Wiley Price and Kenneth Mayfield are COUNTY COMMISSIONERS and have nothing to do with the Dallas City Council. Thomas G Jones is an elected Justice of the Peace, not a city judge.

You are right, I failed to make that distinction, hglick. Thanks for correcting me.

I couldn't beleive my ears this morning either. I am so sick and tired of the race card being thrown out when race isn't at issue. You are right Scotty, stupidity like this is a slap in the face to those who have actually fallen victim to the ignorance that defines racism in the first place. I also agree with your comment that these two idiots are a HUGHE part of the race problem here in Dallas. Price is forever and always using race as a battering ram. I think that by now it is pretty clear that the racist on the council goes by the name of Price, and he just stirs everyone else up.

Exactly, chickenlady. Every time one turns around there is John Wiley Price embroiled in controversy, and usually that of a racial nature. He reminds me of little Al and Jesse. He's trying so very hard to be disrespectfully respectful!

Well I was wrong too, I knew price was still on the commission and mistakenly said city council.

Either way he/they need to be voted out, as well as that ignorant judge. Can you imagine having to go before a judge that has publicly shown how ignorant and racist he is?

I'd bet were Paul Adrian to dig in Jones' court documents he'd find a vast dichotomy in cases with regard to race. I believe I'll write to him about it.

What more can be said about the ignorance of these non-whites? (Kind of scared to use the B word!) So we no longer can refer to anything as B**CK so, the firecrackers we set off are non-white cats!! HAHA!

As another blogger correctly wrote, maybe these ignorant boobs should concentrate on "redirecting their racially hypersensitive energies into continuing self-education and becoming more well-rounded individuals .."
That would be a good start and something which should have been done IN HIGH SCHOOL.

Wow, that's a healthy mouthful, Chard, but right on target!

I seriouslt want to hear from the other black leaders of the community on this. That they would remain silent would be a testament to their agreement with this race-baiting stupidity.

Holy JEEBUS, This is just foolish. I think these people need to get their heads out of their own black holes.Have they no education,do they not even watch television? A black hole is an acceptable scientific term . This makes my head hurt

It is my sincere belief that Mr. Price and Mr. Jones owe the citizens of Dallas an apology for their race-baiting tactics, ignorance and abject stupidity.

This is rather beyond any apology... they ARE STUPID, TOO STUPID to be 'serving the public". They need to resign and take their colossal ignorance home.

The irony here is that Price suposes himself to be intelligent.

He's so intelligent he led Dallas police on a chase that could have injured or killed an innocent motorist.

omg, when did that happen? How did I miss it?!!

If you notice, most of the true stupid ppl, believe themselves to be 'smart'. But, in spite of any book learn'n, they have NO wisdom and NO common sense.

How right you were about the comment "White Hole" being a true racist comment. It was said with malice whereas Mayfield's comment of a "Black Hole" was not. How sad times have become when educated men make the simple word "black" a racist issue.
