scottythecomic's whimsical rantings

These are excerpts from Obama's Berlin speech that I have taken the liberty of identifying and categoring.

Socialism

People of the world - look at Berlin, where a wall came down, a continent came together, and history proved that there is no challenge too great for a world that stands as one.

While the 20th century taught us that we share a common destiny, the 21st has revealed a world more intertwined than at any time in human history.

Global Warming Rhetoric

As we speak, cars in Boston and factories in Beijing are melting the ice caps in the Arctic, shrinking coastlines in the Atlantic, and bringing drought to farms from Kansas to Kenya.

One World Government

In this new world, such dangerous currents have swept along faster than our efforts to contain them. That is why we cannot afford to be divided. No one nation, no matter how large or powerful, can defeat such challenges alone.

The walls between old allies on either side of the Atlantic cannot stand. The walls between the countries with the most and those with the least cannot stand. The walls between races and tribes; natives and immigrants; Christian and Muslim and Jew cannot stand. These now are the walls we must tear down.

Disarmament and Reducing the Military

This is the moment when we must renew the goal of a world without nuclear weapons. The two superpowers that faced each other across the wall of this city came too close too often to destroying all we have built and all that we love. With that wall gone, we need not stand idly by and watch the further spread of the deadly atom. It is time to secure all loose nuclear materials; to stop the spread of nuclear weapons; and to reduce the arsenals from another era. This is the moment to begin the work of seeking the peace of a world without nuclear weapons.

Global Socialist Economy

This is the moment when we must build on the wealth that open markets have created, and share its benefits more equitably. Trade has been a cornerstone of our growth and global development. But we will not be able to sustain this growth if it favors the few, and not the many. Together, we must forge trade that truly rewards the work that creates wealth, with meaningful protections for our people and our planet. This is the moment for trade that is free and fair for all.

 Eco-Marxism As A One-World Religion

This is the moment when we must come together to save this planet. Let us resolve that we will not leave our children a world where the oceans rise and famine spreads and terrible storms devastate our lands. Let us resolve that all nations - including my own - will act with the same seriousness of purpose as has your nation, and reduce the carbon we send into our atmosphere. This is the moment to give our children back their future. This is the moment to stand as one.

Black Liberation Theology

Now the world will watch and remember what we do here - what we do with this moment. Will we extend our hand to the people in the forgotten corners of this world who yearn for lives marked by dignity and opportunity; by security and justice? Will we lift the child in Bangladesh from poverty, shelter the refugee in Chad, and banish the scourge of ADS in our time?

Open Borders As A Step To One-World Government

Will we welcome immigrants from different lands, and shun discrimination against those who don't look like us or worship like we do, and keep the promise of equality and opportunity for all of our people?

EXCELLENT!! And you nailed it! (of course) OBam is a socialist/marxist and what's a little shocking, is so few Americans understand that fact... or care? And the fact that he was in Europe dissing American, Americans and our military proves he UNQUALIFIED for office.

And don't you know that most bloggers will IGNORE the information presented here.

Wow.

You ever stalk anyone?
That sounded a lot like the logic of a stalker.
You know... trying to paint everything with the preferred brush even if it had nothing to do with what the stalker wants it to be.

Look, you and Obama are just not going to be together.
The sooner you acknowledge this, the sooner you can move on.

Sorry...

Cy, my friend!

Listen, bro, I took these words right from his speech - verbatim.

Did I not classify them truthfully?

Well you did take words directly fro the speech. The only problem I guess might be the little labels you included right before quotes.

I think that is what they call taking something out of context... literally actually.

Other than that, good job.
Maybe if Obama had reworded his speech so that those labels you added were part of it then I would see your point.

...oh well... We all know what he meant right? Eh? Right? *wink* *wink*

Bleh...

Cy, one of these days we'll have to share a lunch and pick each other's brains. Short paragraphs here tend to fall short don't you think?

I've got a bet with DDawg (where's he been?) riding on the election. One of us is buying the other a steak dinner. lol

I would be up for that.
Let me know when you and DDawg are getting together.
I'd love to go too.

Sounds like a plan. It'll be sometime after the November election.

Excellent Post. Very true.
Obama is a scam and he has hoodwinked alot of people with all his flowery speeches. I think before November we will see something that will finally wake people up from the spell they are under.

Willie, I hope so. Obama is a likeable guy, but his policies dig a deeper chasm between his goal and the will of the true conservatives.

Agreed and agreed. Cy, I am available for a steak (or veggie) dinner. At this point, I'm not sure who will win.

Cyrus, you need to get you’re nose out of Obama’s BLEEP long enough to take a breath so you can clear you’re liberal headack.
Scott, be sure them idiots you’re having lunch with don’t try and pay for it with carbon offsets through Generation Investment Management. Al Gore is going to be the only thing them two will have to look forward too for the next 4 years when Obama wakes up and finds out he is still a senator and a human and not the messiah.

Hey the open borders take in muslim thing has worked so well in the UK, Scandinavia, France and countless other countries where the muslim brother has been taken in...heck we need to do more. We are even up there on honor killings. Good job us.

San Francisco's policy on keeping illegals sheltered from law and paying them to be able to have a good life is working well too. Just ask the family of the 3 recent murder victims.

I am not sure how you take economic trade that has taken a few billion people in China and India out of poverty and say that we need to do more. Our money, our manufacturing, and our permanent indebtedness given over to a serious world enemy is enough.

I don't want to lift Chad and Nigeria, and Somalia too. China seems to be lifting them, or at least the military and government dictators.

We cannot borrow enough money to continue this. Between the trillions Bush and Company left us in debt, another 5 or 10 trillion will destroy us. We would not even be able to handle the interest payments.

We are nearing 10 trillion in debt now and growing by the second.

I believe it's already too late. Our present course has led us into unknown territory. All that seems to be left is finding out what part we will play (a minor one, Id bet) in the one-world government.

Looks like I'll be an outlaw.

I understand Scotty.
Actually, I have never really said this but I dont really like to discuss my personal positions about Politics. Yeah yeah... I know... that sounds crazy since I post stuff here all the time. My goal here is to try to shed light on lies and distortions. If someone said this kind of garbage about McCain I would be defending him as well.

In fact I have.

I dont actually have anything against McCain. I even considered voting for him... but I have a major problem with people just acting like jerks and trying to bully others into being too scared to vote for who they really want to.

Personally, I am for Obama. I believe in his message and for most of the ideas he is pushing. I am opposed to a country being ruled by corporations so that is specifically one major thing I am considering.

We differ on that and that is cool.
I think both you and I do respect each others opinions and I always learn something from speaking with you. That is what makes our country great.

I dunno if that explains anything but there it is.

Native Californian transplanted to Texas in 1989, and I love the Metroplex! I'm a veteran paratrooper/infantryman and very conservative minded. I have no qualms about confronting policies that are detrimental to the United States of America regardless of any political persuasion. I support a strong military, tough, no-nosense politics, truth, justice and yes, even apple pie. I am against the Oprah-ization of this country, liberal politics and seditionists at every level. I'm a firm believer in the idea that the coddling mentality has backfired and served to ruin the backbone of America. There's nothing a good BLEEP-kicking or some firm policies won't fix. I love sports, most notably NASCAR, the NHL, the NFL and MLB. I am a season ticket holder for the Dallas Stars and out at Texas Motor Speedway. Win or lose, I stick to my teams: Dallas Stars, Dallas Cowboys, San Diego Chargers, Texas Rangers, Houston Astros, Cleveland Indians and the San Diego Padres.
