Want to see your picture with our FOX 4 reporters and anchors here on the blogs?

I will be at the Plano Balloon Festival on Saturday from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. with a camera in hand and a laptop at my side. Find me at the FOX 4 booth and I'll take your picture with your friends and family or our talent for the blogs. Then come to the blog again on Saturday to look for your pictures online.

Laydownsally: Go to www.planoballoonfest.org for more information about the event or check back Wednesday for the link to my interactive balloon feature. It includes an audio and video about hot air balloons, information about FOX 4's involvement with the festival and general information about the festival.

I am so fortunate we can watch from our deck the balloons taking off in the morning. We sit out there with a cup of coffee and the balloons float over--still low at that point, and we can wave and talk to the people in the balloons!! It is a great event!!!
Hope the weather cooperates!! Today would be a perfect ballooning day.

Do you know if there will be a balloon launch on Saturday?

There was no launch Friday night because the wind speeds were about 35 miles per hour. The officials are still hoping for better weather on Saturday. Your best bet is to check the weather for the wind speed in the morning or afternoon prior to the launches.

It's about 11 a.m. and I've finally made it to the festival after a week of preparations. Unfortunately, the festival is now closed until noon (or until the thunderstorms let up). Hopefully in an hour I can bring better news

Noon Update: The clouds are rolling away and the sun is coming out. But oddly enough, there was just a flash of lightening. I still have hope. I think I'll still get to spend a day out taking pictures after all.

Tracey, I heard it was going to open at 2pm. Are the Fox 4 personalities still going to be there.

Could you also give an idea of the winds behind the front now that it has passed and if anything has been said about the fireworks for tonight. Thanks. See you in a few hours.

Things are now up and running at the ViewPoint Bank Plano Balloon Festival. Come out and join us. I hear Steve Novielle will be out within an hour or two.

I was awake before 7 today-Sat. hoping for nice weather to sit on the deck, coffee in hand to take pictures!! No balloons! So, I will repeat my attempts later today or maybe tomorrow a.m. And I will take pictures!! Depends on those winds!

The weather out at the festival is nice now. The ground has dried up after this morning's shower. The only clouds in the sky are the white and fluffy kind. Steve Noviello was here earlier taking pictures with fans.

I'd just like to say hello to one of our myFOXdfw.com bloggers, Miss Vickie. She stopped by to say hello and take pictures with Steve Noviello. But more importantly in my mind, she's a fan of the blogs, she said.

As of about 4:30 p.m. its a little windy out. I'll try to find someone within the next half of an hour who can tell me whether or not the balloons will launch on time.

myFOXdfw.com Update from the Plano Balloon Festival:
Organizers say the balloon glow and the parachute display will occur as scheduled.
Officials are waiting to see if wind speeds drop before deciding whether to launch the balloons at 7 p.m. for the evening flight.

The balloons are filling up with air. In the least there will be a wonderful light show tonight.
