Being a journalist I'm a skeptical person. But today I'm inclined to belive T.O.'s story about being "groggy" from his medicines rather than attempting suicide. Here's why:

Last week when I was suffering from some pretty horrible female cramps I took two Excedrin. About an hour later the pain hadn't gone away. I decided to take a hydrocodine pill that I had left over from a prior prescription. That will kill the pain, I thought, and three pills can't hurt me.

I don't know much about how medicines work or even how they react with one another. That day things didn't react well, though. I got light headed and blacked out for about 5 to 10 minutes.

Maybe it was the caffine (an upper) mixed with the pain killer. Maybe T.O.'s suppliment had caffine in it. I'm not sure. I believe his story, though.

Any nurses or doctors out there wanna comment? And don't worry I won't ever mix medicines again.

I'm not a nurse nor a doctor, but I would like to comment...

I have taken vicodin/hydrocodone on various occasions throughout my life and never noticed any side effects.

I suffer from migraines and back before I was diagnosed I was suffering from a particularly severe one and all I had was a hydrocodone (wife's scrip). Well I was at work and went to lunch. I went to a fast food joint and got my order and as soon as they gave me my Coke, I took the hydrocodone (empty stomach).

I did some experimentation in my day, but I never had a trip like that! I still don't know how I made it back to the office in one piece. As soon as I was in the parking lot I ate and was fine in about 5 min.

About all the caffeine will do is speed up the effects of the medicine (unless it is an excessive amount or he doesn't normally ingest caffeine...very doubtful)

Just when I started to think I had heard all I could have heard about T.O. and his life. Tdelatte brings up some very valid points. The ticket had a pharmacist on the radio that verified that there were a majority of things over the counter that would react abnormally with vicodin/hydrocodone.

I take five prescriptions daily and the way I do is - I turn the pill bottle upside down after I take the pill. That way I don't forget and take it again later.

I am not allowed to drink grapefruit juice or eat grapefruits as they have some kind of acid that adversely effects the absorption of the meds.

For twenty-four years I have been enduring pain from two knees that require total reconstructive surgery. Having to endure the pain I have been prescribed Percocet, Vicoden, Hyrdocodone, Cortisone with Steroid Injections and Tylenol #3 & #4 due to periods of extreme pain throughout my life.

The very first time I took Vicoden was after a total dislocation of my right knee in high school. After leaving the emergency room none of the doctors said to wait a period of time before taking the prescription. One Vicoden had once home looking at my mothers’ knick-knack shelf and noticing that the horses and little sheep were running back and forth. The episode got so bad that my mother took me back to the emergency room but received no further treatment. Now I can literally take as many as six a day chewing them like candy without incident yet when I am not in pain I take none at all.

Original Prescription number noted by initial reports from the police department.

Prescription Bottle:35
Ten Days Use:-30
Balance: 5

Personally I don’t care for T.O. but this is all blown out of proportion. Like most of the players interviewed of the Cowboys, they each said he (T.O.)loves himself too much.

Over reactionary Cowboys Fans would note the last Cowboy/Redskin's game and say Santana Moss 0 TD's T.O. 1 TD's, just poking fun mpaco33...

Loving oneself doesn't preclude one's
suicide.

Travis, are you saying he was trying to love himself to death?

He IS loving himself to death.
As spectators we wait for the "moneyshot".
