I joined in on a debate with a co-worker earlier this week about whether or not TV on the web is the future of our industry.

He doesn't believe anyone watches TV online. I personally watch a lot of TV online. I do have DVR, but every now and then I forget to record something. Every now and then I also want to re-watch old series or entire series. FOX and NBC made it even easier for me this week with the launch of a site Hulu.com. There's tons of stuff there and you can even embed clips on your blog or Web site. I think it's awesome.

What do you think? Is TV online the wave of the future?

P.S. I thought I'd share one of my favorite clips to help demonstrate how convenient TV online actually can be.

does watching two hour online interviews with recently kicked off CBS's Survivor series castaways count as TV online ?

actually , I did that last year , but I do not know if they still continue that feature on the Survivor website

It probably does. Would you watch Survivor online if you missed it one night? How would you feel if it stopped airing at a specific time and was just available on your TV in an on-demand format?

I should mention that I frequently hook my PC up to my TV. So the stuff I watch online is still on the big screen.

tdelatte , after posting my comment , I went to the Survivor website and cruised around , joined a few discussions , authored a discussion point , made a few smart alec replys

and I must say , it was hard to navigate their various functions , whereas fox4dfw is very easy to color upon

You can also watch ABC stuff on AOL Television and, of course, FOX stuff here on myFOXdfw.com at FOX on Demand. Although most of the stuff you'll find on the FOX on Demand site will be the same as Hulu.com.

Actually, AOL TV has stuff from all the networks, not just ABC. So you can find CBS stuff there too.

More CBS stuff at http://www.cbs.com/, including full episodes of the original Star Trek series. My other favorite, Food Network is a little lacking. But, Discovery, TLC and Animal Planet all offer full episodes.

Online TV is the future. This is part of why the WGA writers were on strike. They demanded that they share in the revenue garnered from the Internet.

It is a part of the future...

Personally, I don't watch TV online. IfI miss an episode, I don't think about catching it online...Not sure why...My 10yo watches stuff online...
