This song is by Everlast and is written in the perspective of a soldier in Iraq.  It tells of the soldier who does what he's there to do but is unsure of the rightness of the cause.

God bless all our soldiers...keep them safe.

I "dug" this video! I have a set of slamming speakers here at home, including a woofer...and man that song rocked! I like the tonality in this voice and bass and guitar. The song in itself was a little strange and different, but the message was clear.

"We all end up on the same side..."

Hmmmm....

I'm with you, God bless our soldiers and keep them safe!

*I think I'll replay this one...*

Thanks for sharing!

I'm so glad you enjoyed it. The song along with the video brought tears to my eyes. It brings a reality to what the soldiers go thru on a day to day basis in war. Great tribute to our soldiers who are not always appreciated.

Great post TM!!! It brought tears to my eyes as well.

P.S. Thanks for the little bald-headed huggers - it warmed my heart and I'm glad we are still friends.

Take care.

TM - your son is a very good looking young man - looks so good in his uniform! His wife is a knock-out! Cute, cute couple! I know you are very proud of them. Any grandkids yet?

Pffft Boo...i'm too young for grandkids, had my son when i was 2. LOL

No grandkids yet and hopefully they know enough to spend this time with one another. As you know once a child arrives it all changes. They will be married 2 yrs on the 20th of this month.

How many grandbabies have you got?

Had your son at age 2 - Tehehehe!
I have one granddaughter - she is the love of my life. She will be 2 years old in July. It is so much fun being a "Nana"!

You're right about them spending time together first - they should enjoy each other first.

Those grandbabies apparently have a special power over grandparents. My kids are spoiled rotten by my parents. I bet yours is too. Now ya need a grandson or two :)

Grandbabies sure do have a special power - my granddaughter is sooooo much fun and I would love for her to have a little brother or sister.

I usually keep her on my days off and she has just been a joy. It's like revisiting my son's childhood only I can send her home at the end of the day to her mom and dad. Funny thing though is that I sure do miss her when I work my three to four days in a row 12 hr shifts.

That's sweet of you to keep her, my dad and step mom keep my kids one day a week and they take them on vacation every year. God bless grandparents :)
The kids love that granparent time as much or more as the g-parents, just think of all those special memories you are giving your granddaughter

WOW! He's a real looker, Little Mama! Hahaha! So handsome in his uniform. And, his wife is pretty, too. She sorta reminds of that actress...oh hayell...what's her name? Jennifer "something"...

Had your son at 2? I know what you mean. I had mine at...oh...18 months (LOL).

No grandchildren yet for me...but...you never know!

TM, you should be so proud! You too, Boo!

It's really wonderful!

Thanks Onyx..ya know i'm one proud mom. He's as happy now as i've ever seen him.

LOL @ 18 months

You sound like you would be happy for some grand babies? :)

TM, I would, but not right now. Both kids, 22 (23 this month) and 19 (20 in June) are doing all the things youngsters do and enjoying their youth without the responsibilities of taking care of a child. And, TRUST and BELIEVE...they would HAVE to take care of it! Hahahaha!

But, I do look forward to having grandkids when they finally settle down and MARRY!

Sounds like you taught your kids well. Pretty smart of them to wait and just enjoy life right now.
I have some fond memories of my g-parents. My g-parents were poor farmers. Their lifestyle was so simple, my g-mother wore bonnets on her head and my g-father wore overalls...ALL the time. He had daily wear overalls and he had newer pairs for special occassions. LOL We'd gather eggs and watch her make jam. WOW just thinking about it makes me realize how totally different life is now.

I know what you mean. My grandparents lived in a rural area...a very basic...simple life. Waking up by the sound of rooster perched somewhere on a fence was serene to me. The sound of the train at night grinding low as it passed...

My grandfather was a "stylish" type man. He wore hats cocked to the side of his head...slacks...shirts...colorful mind you...and Stacy Adams shoes.

My granny pulled her hair back SEVERELY in a bun at the nape of her neck and wore those dresses with the big belts or sun dresses.

Now, just down the street was a great aunt (my grandfather's oldest sister) and that's where I learned to appreciate bonnets, chewing tobacco, snuff, flyswatters, a bucket of water with a dipper to drink from, tin tubs for washing, and the actual washing board!

Hahahaha!

I lived two lives, it seemed...but by doing so...I was well balanced.

Gosh, you are bringing back soooo many memories! The simple life..

Don't you wish for it sometimes?

OMG that made me laugh! Your aunt..i swear that could be my grandparents. i remember he bucket of water with the long handled aluminum (i think) dipper. the wash board and the wash tub. You must be my long lost cousin. :)

Ohhhh yes i wish for those simple innocent times. I'd love to be that little girl who gets her parents to stop on the side of the road to buy watermelons and me a bonnet..just like g-mothers. my sis laughed at me so hard tho for wearing it. she was two yrs older and of course 100 yrs wiser. lol

Well, howdy COUSIN!!!

Hahahahahahahaha!

That simple existence is just absolutely priceless!

We would sit on the back porch and gobble up plums, watermelons...anything we could get our little hands on!

My grandfather...girl, when we heard his car coming down the road...we would race to that car...hands out...asking him what did he bring us! He NEVER came home in the evenings without something for us. Usually, crackerjacks or a bag of lays potatoe chips or some candy of some kind.

Then, my Lord...at the close of the evening...at dusk...wasn't it peaceful to sit on the porch and listen to stories of the "old times"?

My grandmother would braid our hair and clip the ends every full moon. Why? I have no idea...

"My grandmother would braid our hair and clip the ends every full moon. Why? I have no idea..." LOL my g-ma had really long hair and she would "platt (sp?) it. we'd pick the wild berries down the road and eat almost all of them before we made it back to the house.
She had a drawer in the kitchen that had bubblegum in it and if we were good and ate all our dinner we'd get to chew till the cows came home. All that homemade bread pudding or rice pudding...yummmmm she was the best country cook ever.

isn't it odd how now we go sit outside and fight off the bugs and mosquitoes and even the sounds of the trains in the evenings are corrupted with the outside world. Early in the mornings tho, around 430 or so, the train rolls thru terrell and it sounds so plain and clear..brings back wonderful memories.
