I am a 40 year old man that is planning on going back to college, and I am needing financial aid. I also am an epileptic, and I don't know where I can go to get help with school other than the FAFSA web site, I had a student loan that was in default that I just recently got paid off, but I was hoping to be able to find other help as well so I don't have to apply for a pell grant. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I am wanting to go back to school because my father died when I was 25, and he really wanted me to finish college, so it is something that I am kind of wanting to do for him. I hope someone can help me.

Have you tried the Texas Rehabilition Department. I don't know if they can help with college but it might be worth a try or maybe they know of a program that will help you with this.
Texas Workforce Commission I don't know if they have programs to help you but it's worth a try to call them. Maybe they know of a program that can help you.
That's all I know of at this time.
Good Luck,
~BYY

The only way to get help with school around here is to be so fat you're considered handicapped, or a so called minority. GOOD LUCK!!

Go to the school you are considering and speak with a financial aid counselor. They can point you in directions for money you didn't even dream of. In looking on line (which is also a great source of scholarships) remember that you should never have to give money to get money. Best of luck to you!

I am a 40 yr old white retired male. I was forced to retire for health reasons. God has blessed my life tremendously, I have a 4 year old son and a 20 year old son. I am a photographer, and a born again Christian. On occasion, I do preach sermons at my church. I am also a puppeteer for children's church, and have been for about 2 or 3 years. My youngest son everyone says is going to be our churches next pastor. I love him so much. My oldest son is living with his fiance now. He has decided to get married next march, and that makes me sad since I was his age when I got married, and that didn't work. I do hope that it works out. I love both my sons very much, and my love for my children makes me understand the love God has for us. I may not be the perfect person, but I work for someone that is perfect (Jesus).
