I can't believe what this country is coming to.  California has maliciously overturned what the people of the state want, if I lived in that state, I would be fighting that.  Because California is a predominantly gay state, they overturned what the voters have already said they didn't want.  They have already voted down gay marriage, and because there are so many gay couples in that state, they decided to go against God, and allow gay marriage.  I thought that was settled when they held an election for that very thing.  God is against gay unions, and this country is founded on God's principles, and they go against God and allow something like that to happen.  I personally think that the US supreme court should step in.  I hope they do.

Unfortunately, it is increasingly the courts that tell us all how we will live, what we will say, and when (or if) we can say it. This country is sliding into the abyss of paganism, wantonism and the errant wisdom of men.

The Ninth Circus (no spelling error, the truth) has been the source of many legislative sessions from the bench. They seem to think that they have been made kings instead of judges. Just hold on, because the Dems will probably win the bulk of the elections, but if they don't deliver their pie in the sky agenda, in two years the same people that put them in there will be screaming for blood.

This is but another example of legislating from the bench, even in defiance of the citizens who voted against this.

Let's see, the vote doesn't matter anymore?

Gee, it must be nice to be a right wing homophobes and have a direct line to God and His wishes. AS far as I know God is a God of love. Not just straight love just LOVE. We cannot control being born gay or straight anymore than we can help being born black, white, blue eyed or left handed. GOD created us the way we are born. A marriage is between two people who love each other. I have loved my husband for 35 years. It does not affect my marriage if two men who love each other get married or two women. I am happy for them and hope their love is as sustaining and strong as mine has been, That is my opinion.

Your opinion seems somewhat muddled IF the state of California is predominantly gay then the VOTERS(remember you say predominantly gay) would not have voted against gay marriage. The court is ruling on legal precedent, not voter sentiment's. As for the Bible and God, The Bible has been written and re-written, edited and re interpreted for millenia. A lot of it was re written but the scholars of King James ,the most closeted homosexual of the ages, who made it clear that homosexuality was to be roundly condemned. Talk about a case of self loathing.
I hope you have a lovely day,
Momcat

Momcat, have you even read the Bible? You are very incorrect about the original text by the way.

As far as being born gay, may I suggest you read this answer to that?

Read the story of the destruction and Gommorah. It says that (and forgive me if I'm to explicit) when Lot took two angels ito his home, the men of Gommorah demanded that the angels be sent out so they could have sex with them. Pervasive homosexuality was a character istic of the punished city. This leads me to believe that homosexuality is a perversion of God's order. "A MAN left his father's house and joined with a WOMAN and they become as one flesh" he left no room for man and man or woman and woman. Homosexual marriage defies those laws of God that even animals follow.

And on another note, what is a judge doing overturning a constitutionally valid decision?
It would a moral evil if he didn't some say. But isn't it a greater moral evil for people to purposefully destroy a system that the lives of hundreds of thousands of were sacificed for? Defining morality was characteristic under the Soviet and Nazi regimes.

Two myths have entered to many christian's minds. Universallism-the idea tahat all actions are ultimately justified (and that allpeople are ultimatley saved). Sentalmentallism-the idea taht sin is to appeased and not overcome. Sorry for being so long winded, but Ijust type every thought as it comes to mind. Botom-line, I don't like the decision.

"The Bible has been written and re-written, edited and reinterpreted for millenia" I think "momcat" makes the best argument of all. The Bible is not God's devine word, but rather man's interpretation of it. The Ten Commandments from the old testament weren't carved from a lightning bolt or fire, odds are Moses had a religous experience under the influence of wild psychadelic mushrooms and carved them himself. No one was allowed to follow him remember? Nowhere in the ten does it say "thall shalt not be a homo". Live and let live. Or hide behind your bible and blind naivety.

So if you don’t like gay people or disagree with their lifestyle you’re a homophobic? Well I guess if a gay person doesn’t like heterosexuals then they are Heterophobic? Oh, wait a minute if I say that then that’s a double stander and racists. I forgot we live in the land of lulu liberals now.

Unfortunately you are incorrect, Mr. Justin. You repeat what many others have done before you, to wit: failed to investigate it for yourself. Rather it is simpler to believe what someone else says?

Try some honest research. The Dead Sea Scrolls revcealed a Greek manuscript, among hundreds of others, that was the entire book of Isaiah. That translated precisely to what was available in the 80's ecept for a few grammatical errors.

But hey, don't take my word for it. Youe very future is at stake. I'd think someone under that burden would do well to check it for themselves.

I have,in fact, read the Bible. It is very interesting. Do I think it is the direct word of God? No. Legends of Sodom are just that, legends. The ancient Greeks and Romans had them too. I CHOOSE to believe that the Bible is based on the teachingsof Christ who preached love and acceptance. As for animals following the no laws of God against homosexuality HA . I actually have animals I have seen things that would curl your hair.

Legends? Oh. my! Try researching the archaeological evidence in support of it, momcat.

Here's a start for you, although it is not exhaustive. The only thing preventing you from the truth now is your will.

I had a therapist who was a former Episcopal priest who told me "You can't use the book to prove the book."

In other words, I could say I am God because my preceding words said I am.

Does that make any sense? Not really.

Now, back to the point at hand. If we have judges and courts TELLING us what to think and do, we live in a dictatorship. Not a representative republic. The voters said no. That should be enough. The will of the people was ignored, and that's wrong. We need to start re-thinking our form of government.

It seems to me that some of the most judgemental people in the world are so called Christians, as far as I know there is only one judge and thats not any man on this earth

Don't worry folks, God will take care of the sinners and he will decide who is one.

Some people will burn in hell, that is for certain.

As a gay man, and a tax paying American Citizen, that is supposed to live in the land of the free.....I have always wondered why only certain people are really free to do what they wish in the United States. If I am a second class citizen with less rights, then why do I have to pay as much tax, wait, I pay MORE taxes because I do not have the luxury of the benefits of married couples. I am not making this about just money, it is about what two people who want to love one another and build a life as one. We are not the crazy perverts that the so many would want to make us out to be, we are everywhere and always have been, and always will be, and like everyone else who has fought for their rights, women, blacks, etc., our time is now and like it or not, we will have our rights. We are moving forward.

I am a 40 yr old white retired male. I have a 4 year old son and a 19 year old son. I am a photographer, and a born again Christian. On occasion, I do preach sermons at my church. I am also a puppeteer for children's church, and have been for about 2 or 3 years. My youngest son everyone says is going to be our churches next pastor. I love him so much. My oldest son is living with his aunt now because he doesn't believe that I love him. He has decided to get married next march, and that makes me sad since I was his age when I got married, and that didn't work. I do hope that it works out, even though I don't believe they will get married, due to the fact that I know my son and know that he wouldn't get a place of his own if they do get married. I love both my sons very much, and my love for my children makes me understand the love God has for us. I may not be the perfect person, but I work for someone that is perfect (Jesus).
