What's next to break the people?  I'm not a smoker but I heard on the radio last night, that adding another doller tax on cigaretttes will bring the cost of them up to $9.25 cents a pack in New York!!  so what is next to follow? can't even afford to calm your nerves after fiilling up your gas tank!!....oh well just a thought they  will have us all living like a third world country before long....lined up for a bowl of soup.....

And New York doesn't allow people to buy off the internet. Dallas will be next. I buy mine off the net and don't pay a freaking cent in state tax, and don't pay more than 20 bucks a CARTON.

If Dallas is next to not allow internet sales, I have other plans in the works. BLEEP them.

What's Ironman pay per ounce...er, carton?

Yeah, the taxation is out of control.

Sounds like NY needs a Hudson Marlboro Party.

I love this. Look at people trying to figure out how to beat taxation to feed their addicton. Nicotine Junkies. Addicts, soon to be roaming the streets looking for black market tobacco. When do the convience store tobacco bandits start their crime spree? There was a time when Grant was stationed on the Mexican, American border to prevent the "Evil Weed" from being smuggled into this country. NO, the evil weed was tobacco. To answer your question scotty, bout $100.oo, that should last me about a year.

All in good fun, Ironman. You know I believe it should be legalized.

The squeeze will be on alcohol and guns next.

The do-gooders- nosy- communist sort are taking over the country. And they'll be the first to whine when tax revenues for smokes DISAPPEARS.

Freedom isn't freedom and we're losing all of ours, thanx to these ppl who can't appreciate liberty & personal choice, except for themselves.

So many people are not upset about this because they look down on smokers. But if this is allowed to happen to cigarettes then they will start doing this to other things as well. Just wait and see what these people do when they do the same thing to something they care about.

They raise the taxes on those baaaaad smokers to fund social programs. Well what happens when everyone quits smoking? Then they will have to move on to some other group they consider sinful...

Guess I better go stock up on my booze, before they discover that they are not charging enough tax on it...

Pretty much. Just wait until they start passing 'sin' taxes on food that doesn't meet their health standards.

Just what would they do if we all decided to quit smoking? They would be really POed that they lost all that money. It's a thought. In Granbury now if we get caught smoking outside near the square it's a $300. fine. Have to be 15 ft. from the front of a building, no ciry parks. ALMOST makes me want to quit to tell them to shove it. BTW I get mine on the net at POST SMOKES.

mgm - that is exactly what will happen. People will quit or use the 'black market' approach and they will be out all that tax money - then they will tax the next 'sin' group... I'm telling you, Liberalism is a religion!
