I LOVE DALLAS!!.. and I truly believe it is my destiny to bring great, sophisticated entertainment to the great people of this great city!! I have traveled extensively all over Europe and in my opinion Dallas is one of the greatest cities in the world!! The new city motto of:Dallas..Live Large and Think Big.. is absolutely accurate for this magnificent city!Every great city on earth can be determined by it's infrastructure, people and art's community...2 out of 3 ain't bad but Dallas has a great deal of work to do as far as it's arts community is concerned, but we're getting there.I don't think it's fair that all the great artists feel the need to leave our great city to make it, there's even a saying in the Jazz community here that in order to be a success you absolutely must leave Dallas...let's embrace out great local artists and put all our differences aside..for instance how many know that Dallas is actually the home of one of the premier Jazz orchestras in the country? The Dallas Jazz Orchestra has been twice nominated for the coveted Grammy Award!!! They recently released a new CD entitled: The Dallas Jazz Orchestra Presents Victor Cager and now I might be a litlle biased but I thinks it's pretty good...you can hear samples at: www.cdbaby.com,www.tower.com, www.amazon.com and www.djo.org It is also my desire in the not so distant future to help open a truly magnificent Jazz club here and also produce a feature film/biopic about the life of the legendary Jazz vocalist Billy Eckstine, his was a most unique life story; he was the first African American Male to ever be considered a sex symbol by both Black and White audiences alike, and he was also linked several starlets in Hollywood among them Lana Turner, it's also widely rumored that he was a silent partner in a casino, and this was a time when A/A were'nt even allowed in casinoes unless employed there! One of the great things about living in this age of information is the opportunity to do extensive research. If you've never heard of Billy Eckstine I urge you to google his name and hear and read more about this most exquisite artist who actually visited Dallas several times during his career, the last time was when he performed at the now defunct Fairmont's Venetian Room in the 80's.
