Don't believe the title? I was skeptical at first too. But the author from the Washington Post, dove into the very first warning shots - during BJB's terms. Good 'ol BJB ignored the warning shots time and time again. Add to the mix of Alan Greenspan's indecisions and quietness of Fannie and Freddie and a Republican senator nepotism (Utah) in 2004 and it created the monster credit storm we have now. The author doesn't even touch the facts that American greed by "fantasy homeowners" who went after no income loan verification programs or interest only loans thinking their home would continue to rise in value 10-20-30% yearly; home flippers, shady mortgage brokers and all to well known greedy bankers.

An excellent article.

How Fannie and Freddie weren't reigned-in; Companies used their power to mask dangers as profits grew.

"Yet in Mexico, the biggest source of immigrants to the USA, there's no debate: If you're not in the country legally, you can't get a driver's license.

All of Mexico's 31 states, along with the federal district of Mexico City, require foreigners to present a valid visa if they want a driver's license, according to a survey of states by USA TODAY.

"When it comes to foreigners, we're a little more strict here," said Alejandro Ruíz, director of education at the Mexican Automobile Association."

Currently about 8 U.S. states allow illegal immigrants access to driver's licenses. Why? Because they'll be safer drivers for having one? Laughable. How many legal citizens drive safer for having a driver's license? Give me a break!! BTW do you honestly believe illegal immigrants who have driver's licenses can afford car insurance? Or maintain car insurance longer than what is needed just to get a license? Car insurance companies charge legal citizens premiums for "uninsured or under insured" - why? Maybe because there may be sufficient data that illustrates that illegal immigrants are causing car insurance companies to lose millions of dollars per year for being involved in accidents with legal residents and it's forcing insurance companies to pony up more than they wish. This assessment can be weighted the same as the argument that "giving driver's licenses to illegal immigrants make our roads safer."

We give more handouts to illegal immigrants than to actual citizens of this country or to immigrants who are following the legal process and policies set forth to become naturalized citizens. Break our laws, demand benefits you feel you are entitled to and cry racial profiling and prejudice when immigrantion policy and laws are enforced.  ACLU (American Civil Liberties Union) ought to fight for the American citizen and not for the law breaking criminal who crosses our borders illegally.

(Bill &Hillary 1970)
BILL CLINTON's MILITARY CAREER

Bill Clinton registers for the draft on September 08, 1964, accepting
all contractual conditions of registering for the draft. Selective Service
Number is 3 26 46 228.

Bill Clinton classified 2-S on November 17, 1964.

Bill Clinton reclassified 1-A on March 20, 1968.

Bill Clinton ordered to report for induction on July 28, 1969.

Bill Clinton refuses to report and is not inducted into the military.

Bill Clinton reclassified 1-D after enlisting in the United States Army Reserves on August 07, 1969, under authority of COL. E. Holmes.

Clinton signs enlistment papers and takes oath of enlistment. Bill Clinton fails to report to his duty station at the University of Arkansas ROTC, September 1969.

Bill Clinton reclassified 1- A on October 30, 1969, as enlistment with Army Reserves is revoked by Colonel E. Holmes and Clinton now AWOL and subject to arrest under Public Law 90-40 (2)(a) registrant who has failed to report...remain liable for induction.

Bill Clinton's birth date lottery number is 311, drawn December 1, 1969, but anyone who has already been ordered to report for induction is INELIGIBLE!

Bill Clinton runs for Congress (1974), while a fugitive from justice under Public Law 90-40.

Bill Clinton runs for Arkansas Attorney General (1976), while a fugitive from justice.

Bill Clinton receives pardon on January 21, 1977, from President Carter.

Bill Clinton becomes the FIRST PARDONED FEDERAL FELON ever to serve as President of the United States.

All these facts come from Freedom of Information requests, public laws, and various books that have been published, and have not been refuted by Clinton.

After the 1993 World Trade Center bombing, President Clinton promised that those responsible would be hunted down and punished.

After the 1995 bombing in Saudi Arabia, which killed five U.S. military personnel, Clinton promised that those responsible would be hunted down and punished.

After the 1996 Khobar Towers bombing in Saudi Arabia, which killed 19 and injured 200 U.S. military personnel, Clinton promised that those responsible would be hunted down and punished.

After the 1998 bombing of U.S. embassies in Africa, which killed 224 and injured 5,000, Clinton promised that those responsible would be hunted down and punished.

After the 2000 bombing of the USS Cole, which killed 17 and injured 39 U.S. sailors, Clinton promised that those responsiblewould be hunted down and punished.

Maybe if Clinton had kept those promises, an estimated 3,000 people in New York and Washington, DC. who are now dead would be alive today.

THINK ABOUT IT! It is a strange turn of events. Hillary gets $8 Million for her forthcoming memoir. Bill gets about $12 Million for his memoir yet to be written. This from two people who spent 8 years being unable to recall anything about past events while under oath.

Sincerely, Cdr. Hamilton McWhorter USN (ret)

Jack Cafferty is a commentator for CNN's "The Situation Room,"and the author of the new best-selling book "It's Getting Ugly out There."

NEW YORK -- I'm a college dropout, but even I can understand this.

Just when there is some slight indication the federal government is going to try to enforce the laws against illegal immigrants, count on an activist federal judge getting in the way.

Judge Charles Breyer of the U.S. District Court for Northern California (where else?) is blocking efforts by the Department of Homeland Security to crack down on those who hire illegal immigrants.

There are an estimated 10 million to 20 million illegal immigrants in this country. Many of them come here to work.

Here's how the DHS program would work: If an employer finds out an employee's information doesn't match Social Security records and the employee can't clarify the issue within 90 days, the employer would have to fire that person or risk being prosecuted. In other words, if the employee obtained his job under false pretenses and was working for the company illegally, he would be fired. Seems simple enough, except when you have an activist judge intent on subverting the law.

The suit challenging the government was brought by the American Civil Liberties Union, the AFL-CIO and several San Francisco labor groups.

Judge Breyer has delayed the start of enforcement for 10 more days while he examines the legality of the issue. Huh? This law has been on the books for a long time without challenge. What exactly is the problem here? It's against the law to hire illegal immigrants, period.

Judge Breyer has also blocked the Social Security Administration from sending out 140,000 so-called "no-match" letters to employers hiring people whose names and Social Security numbers don't match.

Judge Breyer said compliance with the law could put a "potentially enormous burden on the employer." Yeah, just like complying with OSHA regulations costs money.

The judge raised other issues, too, including the language and legality of those "no-match" letters. Either the number matches or it doesn't, another mountain out of a mole hill. And the judge says he's worried about potential discrimination in firing illegal Hispanic workers but not other illegal workers. Come on, your honor. If you are discriminated against at your place of employment, you have recourse on your own regardless of nationality.

The bigger question is, if it's against the law to hire illegal immigrants, why is this even before a judge? Because there is an agenda at work here to leave the illegal immigrant problem alone. Too many special interest groups benefit from the cheap labor, etc. That's why you didn't see anything resembling real immigration reform coming out of Congress and why you still haven's seen our borders secured six years after 9/11.

It's an absolute disgrace, and Judge Charles Breyer should be ashamed of himself.

The opinions expressed in this commentary are solely those of the writer.

------------------------------------------------
-------------

Hard to fathom how a judicial servant of the law cannot read existing laws. It sure sounds like he's creating his own legal bias here.  What the hell is going on here?

Story was found on CNN.com

WASHINGTON (AP) – Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton said Friday that every child born in the United States should get a $5,000 "baby bond" from the government to help pay for future costs of college or buying a home.

Clinton, her party's front-runner in the 2008 race, made the suggestion during a forum hosted by the Congressional Black Caucus.

"I like the idea of giving every baby born in America a $5,000 account that will grow over time, so that when that young person turns 18 if they have finished high school they will be able to access it to go to college or maybe they will be able to make that downpayment on their first home," she said.

The New York senator did not offer any estimate of the total cost of such a program or how she would pay for it. Approximately 4 million babies are born each year in the United States.

Clinton said such an account program would help Americans get back to the tradition of savings that she remembers as a child, and has become harder to accomplish in the face of rising college and housing costs.

----------------------------------------------------
---------------------------------------------------->

Can you imagine the number of illegal immigrants running to this country to swoop up the $5,000 "bounty" for each of their new born children? We already have a conservative estimate of 12 million illegal immigrants here, imagine the baby boom that would occur if Hilary got her way!! And imagine the already high number of welfare recipients having more children that they cannot financially take care of.  Can you say "raise your taxes" ?  Instead of parents teaching kids how to save money the new motto will be "Kids, no need to save money, you can have babies instead."  Hilary for president...just say no.

Taken from CNN - May 25, 2007

WASHINGTON (AP) -- Immigration arrests under President Bush are "stagnant and unimpressive" despite massive increases in Border Patrol agents and other immigration enforcement measures imposed since 2000, a report found.

Bush promoted border enforcement successes this week while pushing Congress for a comprehensive immigration policy overhaul. But the centrist private group Third Way questioned his record in a study released Thursday. It found that arrests and deportations are down almost 30 percent since the Clinton years.

"The decline in immigration enforcement has been steady, dramatic and long-standing," said Jim Kessler, the group's vice president for policy and a co-author of the report. "This may not be the cause of our illegal immigration crisis, but it has certainly contributed to it."

Like Bush, the group argues for a comprehensive immigration bill, including sealed borders, increased law enforcement and a path to citizenship for the 12 million illegal immigrants in the United States today. Such a bill is being debated in the Senate. Bush supports it.  At a news conference Thursday, Bush defended his record.

"There's going to be a doubling of the Border Patrol agents; there's going to be fencing and berms and different types of equipment to help the Border Patrol do its job in a better way," he said.

According to the study, however, it would take more than 100 years to deport all the illegal immigrants in the United States at the current rate of arrests, assuming the flow of migrants across the border completely stopped.

The report suggests part of the reason is that after September 11, 2001, the Border Patrol was assigned to guard against terrorists as well as illegal migrants. It also points out that enforcement efforts have targeted immigrants but largely failed to punish the employers who hire them.

Yes it's true, on this day in 1987 (odd that it occured on Cinco de Mayo right? Go figure!) the federal government began a yearlong amnesty program, offering citizenship to illegal aliens who met certain conditions.  1987 was not the first year of amnesty citizenship either by the way.

Aren't we suckers?

UNDECLARING MY CITIZENSHIP
Becoming Illegal (From a Maryland resident to his senator)

The Honorable Paul S. Sarbanes
Senate Office Building
309 Hart
Washington DC , 20510

Dear Senator Sarbanes,

As a native Marylander and excellent customer of the Internal Revenue Service, I am writing to ask for your assistance. I have contacted the Department of Homeland Security in an effort to determine the process for becoming an illegal alien and they referred me to you.

My primary reason for wishing to change my status from U.S Citizen to illegal alien stem from the bill which was recently passed by the Senate and for which you voted. If my understanding of this bill's provisions is accurate, as an illegal alien who has been in the United States for five years, all I need to do to become a citizen is to pay a $2,000 fine and no income taxes for three of the last five years. I know a good deal when I see one and I am anxious to get the process started before everyone figures it out.

Simply put, those of us who have been here legally have had to pay taxes every year so I'm excited about the prospect of avoiding two years of taxes in return for paying a $2,000 fine. Is there any way that I can apply to be illegal retroactively? This would yield an excellent result for me and my family because we paid heavy taxes in 2004 and 2005.

Additionally, as an illegal alien I could begin using the local emergency room as my primary health care provider. Once I have stopped paying premiums for medical insurance, my accountant figures I could save almost $10,000 a year. Another benefit in gaining illegal status would be that my daughter would receive preferential treatment relative to her law school applications, as well as "in-state" tuition rates for many colleges throughout the United States for my son.

Lastly, I understand that illegal status would relieve me of the burden of renewing my driver's license and making those burdensome car insurance premiums. This is very important to me given that I still have college age children driving my car.

If you would provide me with an outline of the process to become illegal (retroactively if possible) and copies of the necessary forms, I would be most appreciative. Thank you for your assistance.

Your Loyal Constituent,

Pete McGlaughlin

In my recent experiences, customer service levels have fallen and fallen hard. My experiences in dealing with these corporations have shown that service levels are abyssmal.

Dell - their webchat customer service is horrible, poorly trained and/or unknowledgable technical support reps. They failed to provide even average customer support, three webchat usages and all failed to correct the problem. I had to eventually call the telephone service system, was placed on hold for 1 hr before I even spoke with someone. But at least the person understood the problem immediately. However my pc service part that was supposed to be shipped was mishandled for 48 hrs before this mishap was found and then shipped overnight.

Time Warner Cable - awful service and reliability. Their customer service reps blame you, the customer, and it's never their fault. At least Dell apologized for their errors. Even the cable service technician that was sent out was placed on hold for over 30min. before he got through, but even then he had to simplify things over the phone to his coworkers to make them understand the problem and how to resolve it.

Blockbuster Online - they stopped sending dvds without an explanation and yet my account was current and paid for in advance.  Email customer service took over 24 hrs to return response, yet their website touts 2-4 hrs response time. What's worse is that after two email exchanges they still have not answered the service question - when will it be back up and running. The telephone service level is just as bad - they too failed to correct the problem, they told me to call back in 24 hrs if it still was not corrected. Here's the beauty of this ... today is Saturday and their telephone customer service is only available Monday thru Friday - hence who the hell do I call and escalate to? What is my service problem you ask? Well dvds were returned last Friday and yet my shipping queue is still empty, meaning they have not shipped my next 3 dvds in my queue. In fact they even failed to contact me, the customer, that they are having problems.

BankDirect (owned by Texas Capital Bank) - deposits by mail take about 4 days to post, even though I am in the same city as to where it's being delivered too (Dallas to Dallas).  I can mail in the the morning and it somehow takes 4 days to arrive and get posted to my online account.  So this allows BankDirect to pay less interest per month, since the deposits are in transit and not deposited into the account. Also direct deposits are listed later then their arrival date - and this was confirmed by the sender of the direct deposit. Again, by not depositing the funds in a timely manner the bank pays the customer less interest. However the bank and/or vendor retains a holding account where interest is accrued and they keep this money.

Sunset Oaks Apartments (north Dallas) - management are thieves, maintenance does shoddy work and how they run their everyday business I'm baffled. I'm still fighting them for my deposit and it has been 10 months since I left!

What has happened to customer service?

Let me warn any current and future renters for Sunset Oaks Apts in Dallas (far north Dallas) on Timberglen Rd, Dallas.

Management is a farce, they will not help you nor properly handle maintenance and courtesy patrol requests. I've had far too many maintenance and courtesy requests that fell on deaf ears and/or failed to handle the situation in a timely manner. In fact, the complex failed to handle a continuous neighbor problem for the entire time of my 1 yr lease.  Management was aware of the neighbor problems - heard it, seen it, but did little about it.  I still copies of records and letters to for each occurance that the complex failed to resolve.

Also they may try and defraud you in keeping rental deposit money that is refundable. I had the dubious honor of dealing with this problem and although I have the records to prove they owed me $200 in deposit rental refunds, the property management owners and the apartment complex themselves refuse to communicate. I mean they absolute refuse to return communication by mail, telephone and email.  In fact, I get dismissed and told "the manager is not available right now" when I try and visit in person.

Of course the best recourse would then be a small claims court, however since it costs money to file a claim, and then more money to have papers served, it's too costly to just to handle a $200 claim. Thus a "public service message" warning current residents and future residents to avoid renting from Sunset Oaks Apartments unless you don't mind being cheated, frauded and your rental concerns placed aside time and time again.  The Apartment Association of Greater Dallas has also failed to assist and step in, instead their consistent response is "management at Sunset Oaks stated they will contact you."

So tell me, why do some apartment complexes and rental associations support illegal immigrant housing efforts (meaning they were against Farmer's Branch illegal immigrant rental proposals) and yet they refuse to assist legal residents who paid on time month after month after month with rental problems?

Found in a national newspaper editorial.

Dear Rev. Jackson:

I read with interest your Sept. 12, 2006, article "Goodwill, unity, money have been squandered since Sept. 11," which appeared in the Chicago Sun-Times. I do not object, as such, to your poisonous screed directed at President Bush. I object to the substance that so freely flows from your mouth and that can best be likened unto that which is consistent with encopresis albeit in your case, the malady can hardly be defined as involuntary.

You purport yourself to be a minister a reverend a so-called man of God but a minister is a servant and a reverend is a member of the clergy, which means said individual is to be obedient unto the God he serves. If one serves the "god" of chaos, deceit, lies, whore-mongering, dysfunction, greed and resentment then perhaps within ecclesiastical environs it can be said you serve well. Apart from same being the case, you are antithetical of everything that can remotely be identified as a biblical servant of the true "Living God." But I get ahead of myself.

In the piece you wrote, our military is "stranded" [in Iraq] with inadequate training and inadequate direction." On what did you base that premise? On what basis do you brand the finest all-volunteer military in the history of civilization as poorly trained and inept? Or was your statement an effluence based on an apriori moment designed to gain political points for the upcoming election?

You spoke of "catastrophic climate change, global pandemics and unsustainable trade deficits" but you never make mention of the catastrophic zeitgeist that has wreaked havoc and "more economic damage" upon the community you self-servingly claim to represent. You are never heard making reference to the "pandemic" level of black on black crime, black abortion rates, black single-parent homes (albeit you contributed to those numbers) and black criminal behavior, all of which threatens the future of blacks as a whole.

You wrote that the president, "instead of asking Americans to sacrifice to meet the challenge [of 9/11] called on them, literally, to go shopping. "You condescendingly wrote, "He allowed business as usual to go on in Washington."
I ask you how much more could Americans have sacrificed than watching their innocent family members and co-citizens perish? How much more sacrifice could the president have called upon the people to make? Or by sacrifice were you saying that the president could have called upon Americans to give more pints of blood or more supplies to charity groups that were immediately besieged with donations? Perhaps you reasoned that ordinary people performing extraordinary acts of volunteerism and acts of mercy were not sacrifice enough. Or were you suggesting that President Bush should have ordered everyone to hide under their kitchen tables and quake in fear?

What part of the American spirit do you perceive wasn't grieving after those attacks? What do you believe the people of Washington and its metropolitan area experienced daily as they commuted past the final resting place of those aboard United Flight 77? What would you have done differently? How would
you have displayed leadership?

In the article, you spoke of the 9/11 commission being "nonpartisan." Does
that include Richard Ben-Veniste and Jamie Gorelick? You derided the very intelligence tools that have prevented terrorist attacks on our soil since 9/11.
You intentionally and erroneously labeled domestic eavesdropping "warrantless wiretapping," never mentioning that it prevented Lyman Farris from blowing up the Brooklyn Bridge, was instrumental in protecting the Sears Towers and was key in uncovering the UK suicide bombers' plan to blow up 10 international passenger planes just one month ago.

You blame the president for bringing "discredit to the nation across the world." My question to you is, who brought discredit on the nation in 1979 when we had a president who betrayed a trusted ally and was unable to free Americans held hostage. Who brought "discredit" on America in the years preceding 9/11,
as the mongrel followers of a pedophile and false god bombed American
interests around the world? Is President Bush to blame for the 1993 World Trade Tower bombings?

You referred to Defense Secretary Donald Rumsfeld as "ugly and dishonest." I ask you, is that not a more appropriate self-description? You are the man who rubbed the blood of a fallen hero on your clothing and then lied, saying he died in your arms. Shall we outline your financial dealings?

You claim the president's credibility is gone, when in truth it is you who has no credibility. President Bush is fulfilling the role of his office. But as a minister, can the same be said of you? Are you fulfilling God's prescripts for the priestly office you claim to hold? How many people have you personally led to the saving knowledge of Jesus Christ?  How many people have you preached the salvation message to?

What have you done to bring glory and honor to the name of Christ?  Is that
what you were doing as you paraded your pregnant mistress around the White House while supposedly ministering to a president taken with sexual sin of his own?

"Goodwill, unity, money" have indeed been squandered, but not since 9/11.
They have been squandered on you and your morally depraved kind. You claim
a title that should offer "hope," but instead you offer fool's parsley.

My prayer for you would be, and is, that you would confess the error of your ways while there is yet time, because the "Living God" takes a dim view of those who intentionally lead his children astray.

Sincerely,
Mychal S. Massie

P.S. I am available to debate you, anywhere, on the relative principles of your ersatz theology versus true Christianity.

Toys 'R' Us flip-flops, gives 3 babies New Year prize
http://www.cnn.com/2007/US/01/06/first.baby.ap/index.ht
ml

The baby of an illegal immigrant from China was awarded a $25,000 prize (savings bond) for being the first baby born for 2007, even though entry requirements babies' mothers to be of legal resident. There was so much flak after Toys R Us rescinded the award initially after learning the baby's mother was an illegal immigrant, that they ultimately decided to give back the $25,000 prize.

So in essence ... the baby becomes a U.S. citizen, with a mother an illegal immigrant. The baby wins a savings bond with a value of $25,000, and who's going to end up paying for the medical bills associated with the birth? Taxpayers!! It just shows that if you cry and pout enough eventually the laws will be pushed aside and the outcome will become favorable to you. Once again we've lowered the bar and the standard levels here in the U.S.

A woman had only received a 10yr jail sentence for renting out her 9yr old daughter for sex to a pedophile, Joe Champion of Granite City, Illinois, for more than 200 times, he typically paid the mother $20 per instance. The mother often held the girl down while Mr. Champion molested her.

Thank goodness for a federal appeals court who threw out the sentencing by calling it too lenient. The original judge out to be repremanded and be barred from all sex crime cases - 10 yrs for such a horrible event to occur time and time again? A life sentence would still be too lenient.

Bye Bye Koffi Annan, your stay has been much too long. Your leadership was missing - couldnt handle the oil for food for Iraq, in which your own son was implicated too; did very little for the Bosnia issue - U.N was expected to lead yet they asked other countries to and then handicuffed the supporting countries; the continuous problems in Africa during your tenure - where do I even began? You failed them. Period. Your response to North Korea? Hello? Oh wait ask another country to lead instead? Bye bye Koffi dont let the door hit you on the way out ... which brings me to North Korea ... embargo, sanctions, censorship, etc. The world continues to meet and provide the tyrant's demands and false promises time after time ... Iran and Syria leading the Iraq talks is like having the lion ask the hyenia to go bring the antelope to a joint meeting ... dinner will be served shortly ... Iraq has more neighbors than just Iran and Syria, contact all the bordering countries and establish a meeting with all the countries ... If the Iranian president doesnt believe the Holocaust existed I'm thinking that maybe Iraq never used chemical weapons against Iran during their decade long squabble, I think Iran is "lying on the chemical weapons used against them" - it's pure "PR" ... as for the former IBM employee who filed a lawsuit for wrongful termination because he thinks he has an addition to sex. Hello Beavis? You are at work, sex chat rooms should not even be a topic of discussion let alone having daily sex chat sessions while gainfully employed - IBM has every right to can your dumb behind ... recently read an article on CNN Money about a couple with 4 kids who cannot go thru everyday life on a yearly salary of $150,000. That's right earnings of $150,000 a year and they have financial troubles, and worse of it is that they actually made front page material at CNN Money. Fiscal responsibility is where? There are familes the same size who are making less than 1/2 that and they are making it.
