*this is not my attempt at defending rosie, because i'm a huge fan. this is just me defending another person's right to give an opinion without making it a personal attack to him/her as a human being. that's ignorant. *

Bill O'Reilly has made it a point to devote much of his program for the last few days to whatever Rosie O'Donnell says on The View that his different from his own thinking.

He had Geraldo Rivera on the other night and preceded to drown him out with "You're losing this one buddy!"  The problem with that observation is Bill didn't seem to understand exactly what Geraldo was saying.

Sure, I'll admit, sometimes Rosie says some off-the-wall things, but so do most conservatives in my opinion.  The difference between me and people like Bill O'Reilly, is I don't accuse others of being unamerican or siding with the terrorists.  The thing that pisses me off about this whole deal is Bill O'Reilly and everone on that network (with the exception of one man on Hannity and Colmes, who defended what Rosie actually said, to what people interpeted her saying, which is my point all along), has made it a point to twist, cut and paste without letting viewers who do not watch The View, know what was said before and after the thought.

The thing is, Rosie's opinion on anything she says is proteced under free speech.  Many people, including Bill O'Reilly during his interview with Geraldo, kept spinning the situation to ask if "Ann Coulter had said what Rosie had said, every media network would be all over it."  But since it wasn't her, O'Reilly claims, and just Rosie, the media stood clear of it, which further proves the "liberal media bias."

That's not exactly true.  The reason Ann Coulter got so much publicity (which she loves, and that's why she said it) is because she used a derogatory slur to John Edwards.  Whether she meant it or it was "taking out of context," she still said it, and that is not protected by free speech.  There are just some things you do not do, and apparently Ann Coulter just wanted some attention for the day, because it was getting quiet on her side of the world.

If Rosie had used a derogatory name to Bush or anyone in the adminstration, of COURSE it would have been noted.  But since she gave an opinion about a situation that has been done many times over, hardly anyone took notice.  It was an opinion, on a show about giving opinions.  So what?

I love to debate with others.  It gives us a different outlook afterwards, and it's great to remain friendly afterwards.  But basic rules in debate will tell you that you do not manipulate what others say, and you do not use derogatory slurs or any such thing that would personally affect the other debator.  It's very simple to do!  Many people (and yes, I'm including liberals in this) do not understand that concept, and can not fathom the idea of not resulting to that.  It only makes me think that the person has limited knowledge on the idea at hand, and can only go so far.  It's sad to me...

Let's clarify right quick:

Rosie never said terrorists are good people or that we should befriend them instead of fearing them.  She said we shouldn't fear terrorists (meaning, we shouldn't live in fear that "everyone over there" is a terrorist, or the enemy..which is smart, because many people ONLY see terrorists over there, and nothing else).

She did say it was planned for those British soldiers to be captured so that we could go into Iran.  I don't necessarly agree with this, but I'm apparently in the minority, since many others have this same, or similar thought.

She never said that the government planned to destroy the twin towers.  She did say steel can't melt by fire, to which she clarified later by saying she was refering to a steel building never being destoryed by fire.  Which is true.  She was NOT refering to the twin towers, as so many people like to say, and forget about the other places that were hit.  She was refering to Tower 7, and that theory has been around for a while, only to be brought back to surface by a particular video.  No one has been able to prove one way or another how Building 7 was destroyed, and the ones who "cleaned up the mess quicker than they did for anything else" do not have much to say on the matter.  Which is suspicious.  Do I believe we were responsible for that one?  Not sure, but I know the building wasn't destroyed the way the rest of them were, and I know jet fuel was not the answer (since there was no record of that at all)

I guess I wrote this because, if people want to disagree with Rosie, that's fine, and I encourage that.  I want to debate her on many things, since we don't always see eye to eye.  However, once you twist her words around, and call her names, you've gone to far.  If you cannot have a serious debate without going back to that, you shouldn't even try to debate.  That sorta thing is best left for people who know how to behave like adults

Another thing?  Do not have the balls to say to another American citizen that because they do not agree with the same things you do, or they haven't served in the military, or they have a liberal point of view, or they're more into arts than politics, that you are more American than they are.  We are all citizens of this great country, and for someone to be arrogant enough to think that just because they hold a more conservative outlook on life that they suddenly have a higher ground with which to stand pisses me off more than anything else.  Grow the BLEEP up.

"Shouldnt fear terroist" you dont find a problem with.
Well, friends you dont fear.
so are the terroists are friends?
Well, no, no they're not.

Rosie O like many who have been shut out, unfairly I might add, lash back.
Ok fine.

But she stated that there had to be a bomb inside the wTC for it to fall like it did.
THE BOMB WAS THE PLANE(S) THAT HIT THEM

Shes against women owning guns to protect themselves from abusive ex's or punks on the streets etc

She is saying what she wants and others are challenging her words.
Is it un-American to question??Of course NOT
Is it un-american to hope we lose the battle?
OF COURSE IT IS.
There is no argument that Rosie and others dont understand the world or world politics and what has to be done to MAINTAIN A FREE AND DEMOCRATIC SOCIETY.
It takes covert operations, it takes funding friend, it takes FUNDING ONE ENEMY OR BOTH ENEMIES TO FIGHT EACH OTHER.

soemthing else.
You stated you are not married its just a piece of paper etc.

Well money IS JUST A PIECE OF PAPER SO HOW DO YOU VALUE YOUR MONEY???

And to you, an adult, it might just be a piece of paper but no matter how hard you try and convince your child of the same, they will always ALWAYS feel like they are being shortchanged.

I stopped paying attention to Rosie "O'Idiot" a while back when she was exposed as the liberal hypocrite that she is.

I am referring to an incident where Rosie was ranting on her show "The Rosie O'Donnell Show" about gun control and how guns are bad. However, at the time Rosie was a leading spokesperson for K-Mart. And guess who led the nation in gun sales that year?

Did Rosie turn down the paycheck and stand by her priniciples? Of course not...she is a greedy hypocrite after all.

Rosie is an idiot and due the fact that she is totally out of control lately, very few people like her are listen to her. I use to love her show, but now she just plan makes me sick. I can't even stand to hear her voice. It has nothing to do with her sexual orientation, it has to do with her personalty of which she has none these days.

if we were talking about a normal person , ok, but rosie is outright spreading lies and hate with no basis in facts or reality, she's a lunatic who deserves all the vile directed at her. bill shouts down bullcrap, but rosie won't let elizabeth get a word in without rosie cutting her off and dismissing her and bullying her

You are right about one thing, Rosie does have the right to say whatever she wants to certain limits. What she said amounts to aiding and providing comfort to terrorists. I am not one of those people who thinks everyone from a country is a terrorist. My husband plays soccer on a team with two brothers from the Kurdistan area of Iraq. Their families were killed using non-existant WMD's. Their aunts and uncles, cousins and parents, brothers and sisters were killed by terrorists. And when you think you can swoop in and simply have a little chat and resolve issues with a tyrannical theocracy, then you are living in a fool's paradise. Sure, she has the right to say whatever she wants. But then again, when she does that she opens herself up to debate by those who ALSO HAVE THE RIGHT OF FREE SPEECH. I just love the way liberals are supposed to be able to say any doggone thing they please screaming to high heaven about free speech, but if a kid mentions Jesus in school those same people will do everything in their power to shut that kid up.

you guys didn't study reading comprehension did you? i said everyone has the right to disagree with her...no one has the right to personally attack her or her family, or use derogatory names, as that is not protected by free speach. and manipulating her words to make it seem like she adores the terrorists is silly..that's what i'm talking about..ahs nothing to do with having the right to disagree with her

ucant, you prove my point...

first, not fearing terrorists...i don't fear terrorists...if i did, they win. i don't live in fear that some dark-skinned person sitting next to me on public transportation is going to cut me. if i did, they win.

she never said there was a bomb in the world trade center..she said that a steel building cannot fall the way tower 7 fell without explosives being involved. there has never been a building in history to do that. i don't think a bomb is a far-fetched idea, but do i believe the government is involved..that remains to be seen..i would like to think not

she is against people owning guns because she believes it will reduce violence and accidently death among kids. i don't necessarily believe that

she never said she hopes we lose the battle, but she, and many others, have said it's impossible to win. i agree with that. doesn't mean i'm hoping we lose, i just know we can not rid teh world of terrorists

your last two statements i disagree with completely, mainly because we didn't go over to iraq for that at first...and even the president has had problems holding firm to the actual reason..and he's also said the war is a mess

comparing marriage papers to money is silly...we need money to survive and thrive...we don't need marriage papers to survive and thrive, just to have combined rights with our loved one. that's all it's for in the long run. there's spiritual connections, but i wasn't refering to that. i was simply refering to the government's part of marriage

dale, you know for a fact that very few people like her, huh?
also, the neat thing about television is, when we don't like who's talking, we can turn the channel..it's so great

elizabeth doesn't get bullied by rosie, adn she's even said this. sometimes things do get heated, but that's what happens in debate (and isn't it great they never attack each other personally, unlike people on this site?)..they are actually good friends..fancy that

hypocrites are all over religion, and this will always be so..if someone mentions jesus in school, someone will be offended...if another person mentions "the devil"..someone will be offended.

a lot of people, especially in religion, want things done on their terms, and on their way of thinking. this quote sums it up: "religion: providing comfort for a world torn apart by religion"

but that's another debate entirely :)

MMM you must be watching a different O’Reilly than I’m watching. I have never seen him manipulating her words. I have seen him call her a nut, but that’s the truth and not name calling. Has he personally attack her? NO! He just points out once again what a nut she is. But you can do the same thing with O’Reilly that I do with her, don’t watch it. I’m sure he want miss you at all.

another thing, a couple of people mention her whole standing on gun control is what made some of you dislike her...i don't agree with her gun control opinion as a whole, but keep in mind, that when she mentioned this, it was right after columbine, and she developed depression right after this because of how badly it affected her. though she still believes that there should be a gun control law, she admits that some of the things she said was just too much..too far.

yes she did say that about the gun issue.
And shes entitled to change her mind at least she is being honest.
Not correct mind you, but honest :)

i think i love everything about you and your blogs...
you, like myself, say it how you see it....and people don't like that...

i, however, find it quite refreshing...

thanks for the comment!

I consider myself an artist...I find my faith in nature...and I express my life through words on paper. I have a three-year-old daughter who is everything to me, and I am in a long-term relationship with a wonderful partner. That's really all you need to know right now.
